Overlooking the Salvators Cathedral this hotel is brilliantly located just a short walk from the photogenic market squares. The building is historic and each room has its own unique design (ours came with a disco light which illuminated the ceiling). Shower was great and the kitchenette was a bonus although with all the great places to eat we didn't use it. The staff were friendly and we followed their recommendations for restaurants - both were superb. The continental style breakfast over looking the Cathedral set us up for walking the cobbled streets and exploring the winding canals before gorging on wonderful food and washing it down with fruity belgian beer (try the Kriek Boon).

Room Tip: All rooms are individual so ask when booking. Room 4 has great views of the Cathedral and a kitchen...

Hotel Salvators is a lovely character hotel in the heart of historic Bruges. Facing Sint Salvador's Cathedral and less than 10mins walk from the Market Square and Belfry Tower, the location couldn't be better.

Be aware that as with many historic buildings in the city, disabled access is limited and staircases are steep so be sure to tell the hotel of any requirements when booking.

Our room was across the street from the reception on the 2nd Floor (room 42), and the stairs were narrow and uneven which was fine for us, but I'd worry about the elderly or kids.

Accommodation was roomy, clean and comfortable, and we both had two great night's sleep.

The breakfast, which is included in the price was good quality, the staff polite and welcoming, and overall this was a great stay in a beautiful town, and comes highly recommended.

Stayed for our 41st wedding anniversary from 9th to 12th August in room 8. Very nice room overlooking the cathedral. It rained a lot so we spent two evenings sampling the beer in the bar rather than go out. Very reasonably priced and good and friendly service.
Breakfast very good but cold buffet only although they will offer you waffle or eggs.
Downside no internet to speak of. You need to go into the lounge area near the fireplace to get any type of signal and its still very slow.
However overall a wonderful place to stay and would highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Would recommend rooms at the front as they overlook the cathedral

Paid extra to stay in one of the larger rooms - Jacuzzi, balcony, mezzanine bedroom with fishtank, sink also a fish tank. Lots of secret cupboards and doors that reveal various treasures!! Nice hotel!

This is a neat place very old building pretty close to everything. the breakfast is good the waffles made to order. The resident cat as the run of the hotel. The only downside is there is no elevator and we were given a tiny room in the attic where you had to climb up a very narrow stairs to the bed. We booked months before and told them we were a senior couple.

Room Tip: If you are seniors or have trouble climbing lots of stairs or suffer from clostephobia go somewhere...

The hotel is right by the cathedral and about 20 metres from the main shopping street - 5 minutes walk from the central Market Square. It is a seventeenth century building, and it is easy to imagine the interior as it would have been originally. We had room 8 which is on the second floor (stairs only); it is smallish with a high slanting ceiling, and a teddy-bear lamp (all the rooms have some quirky feature) - there was an excellent view of the cathedral and the street below. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout - happy to book restaurants for us for example. And the hotel is very clean. There is free Wi-fi, which was useful, but only accessible in ground-floor rooms. The only downside was the breakfast: although cold offerings were extensive, the only hot options were eggs or waffles. Oh, and the hotel has a cat; my wife is allergic to cats but didn't seem to suffer from this one. Overall, an excellent hotel which we will choose again when we return to Bruges.

We returned this year as usual on our annual Bruges trip. Excellent as always with a great location and friendly staff. Good breakfast and quirky rooms especially the teddy bear lamp in Room 8! Will be back again soon.
