“Good location, good breakfast”
Reviewed 26 June 2010

We liked the design & the atmosphere. nothing like a conventional hotel.
the only downfall in our room was the transparent curtain. we had full day light since 5 a.m.
the hotel is situated in a very quiet place & you can walk few minutes to all the main attractions. the breakfast was very good & served in a nice lounge (also got free internet point). absolutely worth the price. there is a great restaurant right in front of the hotel "Cardinalshof".

My boyfriend and I stayed in Bruges for a short break, we found the hotel charming, friendly and very quirky. We would for sure stay here again!

The room we stayed in (Room 41) was a great room/suite with large but basic kitchen, huge built in aquarium and huge bath in the room, there was also a separate bathroom with excellent shower. This room is situated in a separate building across from the main hotel. The lighting was atmospheric, but that wasn't a hindrance.

Bruges is a small town, but beautiful to walk around by foot. You won't need any transport if you stay at this hotel. Belgians are true gourmands and you can see this in the amount and quality of food and drink on offer. The hotel also have lots of tips and recommendations for you to discover.

The hotel has 2 free parking spaces, but if they are not available, there is cheap parking close by.

My wife and I stayed at the hotel for three nights and rteally enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in a great location with a terrific staff. We stayed in room three which was said to have "surprises" and it did. Although the hotel was sold out two of the nights we were there it was quite at night. The breakfast was great and the staff always helpful. An easy walk to the train station restauransts shopping and museums. We hope to return for some more surprises and fun. Dan and Jennier P.. USA

This is the second time we've stayed here. This time we had our young-adult daughter with us and booked Room 43 in the Annex. It was just perfect for the three of us - the bathroom is huge (with soaking tub and separate shower) and was larger the the entire room my husband and I had at the Ibis in Brussels. The two queen-size beds were so comfortable that it was hard to get going in the morning (except for the thought of missing the incredible breakfast). Room 43 also has a sitting area with a tv and a nice kitchen with two small fridges.

The staff was wonderful - especially Sandy (hi Sandy) and Speedy the cat just made us feel right at home (cat lovers). The waffles served in the morning were so much better than any we bought from the street vendors later in the trip. We will definitely return again on our next visit to Bruges.

My wife and I stayed for 4 nights and were only sorry that we had to cut our holiday short because of family circumstances. The room (4) had a useful kitchen area and a very comfortable bed. The room, bathroom and kitchen were clean. Speedy the cat was a star lying on his rocking stool in front of the large fire in the lounge which was a great place for reading and relaxing. The staff were very kind and helpful and the breakfasts were good. The location suited us perfectly being within walking distance of the station and right opposite St. Salvators Cathedral. The room was compact and it would have benefited from an armchair.

Stayed in Bruges for 4 nights in Room 2. Hotel is centrally located, no problems with noise. Room was a little small, could have done with an extra 18" round the bed and would then have been perfect. Stairs will be a problem for anyone with heavy suitcases or mobility problems. Breakfast choice was excellent, even for my vegetarian husband, and staff provided sound advice and recommendations for local restaurants etc. The lounge was comfortable and warm and graced by Speedy the cat lying on his own chair - think it's supposed to be a rocking footstool, but it looks like a green velour cat deckchair!
If you are looking for uniformity and chain hotels, this wont be for you, but wereally liked it and would stay again

We spent three days at Hotel Salvators in early January. The room was lovely and cosy (particularly with the cold temperatures) and quite big. Downstairs is a very comfortable living/sitting room with breakfast tables and a bar.

The hotel is located within walking distance of all the main attractions in Bruges and looks straight out at St Salvators Cathedral.

The breakfasts at the hotel were very good and the staff always offered to make us eggs or waffles.

We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone.
