“So nice, I stayed an extra night”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 March 2014

I was in Belgium on business and decided to stay two extra days to go to Brugge and Brussels before heading back to the States. My original plan was to stay one night in Brugge and one night in Brussels. However, after seeing how nice Brugge was and having a very comfortable, conveniently located stay at the Sint Niklaas, I decided to stay an extra night. The location is close to all of the main sites yet on a very quiet side street with little to no noise.

Because of the last minute decision to stay an extra night, I was able to experience both the Oval and the Belfort rooms. Both were very clean, comfortable and spacious. The best part of this B&B is Anne, the hostess. She was very helpful with advice on where to go, where to eat and where to enjoy the great Belgium beers.

I enjoyed my stay so much, I hope to return one day with my wife. If your travels take you to Brugge, stay at the Sint Niklaas B&B. You will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: The Belfort has a better view but it requires several more stairs. If stairs are an issue, you will...

An absolute fantastic location and Anne's hospitality was second to none! Our room was spacious, clean and had a superb view of one of the main churches.
Highly recommend and I would certainly be a return visitor.

Thank you Anne for our very brief stay, you made us very welcome. This is a superior B&B in a fantastic location and incredibly quiet considering the market is so close by. Absolutely loved Brugges and the fairy lights after dark although the Market itself was a slight disappointment. We stayed in the Oval room which gets its name from the design on the ceiling and is very spacious. Cleverly part of it has been made into a very nice en-suite albeit the wall doesn't go right up to the ceiling as obviously it would spoil the design but gave us no problems. Huge very comfortable bed and nice décor. We had a superb continental breakfast which was varied with a choice of egg, in fact far more than we could eat, and always a nice change from fry-ups which we can have at home. A lovely little restaurant for an evening meal is The Couvert which was recommended by Anne. Would like to think we may go back some day.

Room Tip: If you don't like too many stairs The Oval room might be preferable.

Location, location, location! Two blocks from the main square in Bruges, this wonderful little B.&B. is a gem. It only has three rooms; we stayed in #3 at the top of the stairs. Our room was large, with modern facilities, private bath and a view of the tower on the square. I cannot say enough about the gracious hospitality shown by its owner and proprietor, Anne. She was delightful and so full of advice and recommendations to make our stay in Bruges a wonderful experience. She lent us a tour book of the Bruges and recommended walking tours and several restaurants for us to try. She even made the reservations for us because we were there on a busy weekend. I would highly recommend staying here on your next trip to Bruges. One word of caution however, the stairs are very steep going up to the rooms. There is no elevator, so if you have trouble with stairs and carrying your luggage up a couple of flights, you might want to consider another place.

Room Tip: Room #3 at the top of the stairs. Great view of the Tower in the Main Square.

Highly recommended. All rooms are beautifully decorated. We stayed in the Belfort room with direct views of the tower. It's quiet but ridiculously central. Anne, the owner, is very helpful. Breakfast was plentiful, with fresh coffee etc. There is cheap longstay parking a 3 minute walk away. We couldn't have asked for more!

I had four wonderful nights at the Sint-Niklaas B&B in their Oval Room. It is a first class B&B, located only a couple of minutes' walk from the main square. For someone who had never been to Brugge before, Anne, the host, was a wealth of information on everything from restaurants, sights, bicycle rentals, canal tours and attractions out of town. She even helped me prepare for my three star Michelin meal at Hertog-Jan! The Oval Room was among the best I have ever experienced and the breakfasts were delicious. I would return in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: The Oval Room is spacious, well appointed and has a view of the bell tower in the main square.

We have just returned from beautiful Bruges and the wonderful Sint Niklaas B&B. Anne is a fantastic host. Following a warm welcome she advised us that the city’s restaurants were very busy and we should make reservations for dinner. We hadn’t really thought that far ahead so let Anne make the decisions and I’m glad we did, as we had some great dining experiences and none of the angst of trying to decide.

We had the Belfont room which is beautiful, although as some have mentioned the stairs to the top floor are a bit of an undertaking, especially after a couple of Belgian beers. However, the views make it very worthwhile. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful and we made use of the honesty bar on one of the evenings.

In short, the location is great, so close to everything but still peaceful and quiet, and the house is beautiful, but it is Anne’s warmth and wealth of knowledge that makes this an excellent choice. We would most definitely stay again!
