“Cosy and central”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 May 2014

I stayed 2 nights at Sint Niklaas travelling with my family. My parents stayed in the oval room, which is more on the small side, & my husband & I had the rooftop room, which is spacious & with great views, however, the staircase leading to it is very narrow, which is to be expected given the building's age/architectural style.
This was my second trip to Bruges, but previously I had stayed in a slightly larger B&B, in a different location (nearer to one of the canals) & was a bit worried that the more central location would mean more noise - needlessly, there were no problems with sleep quality, even on a Saturday. As to location, it is literally a stone's throw from the Belfry.
Anna was extremely helpful (with eg. transport or restaurant advice), attentive and polite - given that she did everything herself & the size of the B&B (I had never before stayed in one so small), it felt like staying at somebody's home (especially that we never saw the other guests around). Breakfast is mainly buffet, but varied (plus egg dishes of choice).
All in all, recommended.

Room Tip: If you have problems with narrow staircases, choose the Oval room, however, if you need more space...

Just wanted to add a quick note here to say how much we enjoyed our stay at Sint Niklaas B&B. Sint Niklaas is ideally situated for anyone wishing to visit Bruges, very central whilst being tucked away from the crowds. Our room had fantastic views and had everything we needed. Anne was a fantastic host and was full of advice and helpful suggestions during our stay. She also advised us and arranged our restaurant bookings in advance. Should we go back to Bruges one day (highly likely) then this will be the place we will book to stay. Thanks again for everything Anne- David & Lorna

Room Tip: The Belfort Room was where we stayed. It was excellent with truly great views of the Bell tower in B...

Stayed here for 3 nights, had a great time. Stayed here with a family of 3 (22 month old) in the oval room and loved it. Anne was a wonderful host and even had a special treat for our son on Easter. Good dinner recommendations, and an excellent breakfast as well. Good location. If you are looking for a place to stay in Bruges, this place is great!

Room Tip: The oval room was great!

My wife and I had a marvellous weekend at the Sint Niklaas B&B. The location is fantastic right next to the Belfort and all the cosy shops and restaurants. Anne immediately made us feel welcome and had great dining tips. All in all a great B&B with a splendid room that relates perfectly with the authenticity of the town and house. We will definitely return!

From the reservation to the goodbye, everything was perfect. We contacted the owner by telephone after receiving a recommendation about this B&B. The first contact was very warm, friendly and definitely made us feel welcome. The rooms are great (we stayed here 3 seperate times in a short time span and got to stay in the two top rooms and were allowed to take a peek in the oval room) Al three rooms are very different but the one thing they have in common is the high level of luxury - large rooms, comfortable beds, a nice bath room with soft towels and good bath product, complimentary coffee (soluble) and water bottles in the room. Breakfast has all your heart can desire: fresh pressed orange juice, coffee or tea, fresh fruit, eggs cooked to your liking, sweet rolls, breads with a variety of sweet and hearty toppings, ... And to make your stay even more perfect, there is the owner Anne who is always willing to go the extra mile to accommodate your wishes.
On top of all this, there is the location in the shadow of the beautiful Belfry, smack in the centre of Bruges. You can easily visit the entire city on foot. And no, you don't have to worry about the bells of the Belfry: they don't sound between 9PM and 8AM.

Room Tip: If you want an intimate room under the wooden beams of the ceiling and you don't mind the extra...

I was in Belgium on business and decided to stay two extra days to go to Brugge and Brussels before heading back to the States. My original plan was to stay one night in Brugge and one night in Brussels. However, after seeing how nice Brugge was and having a very comfortable, conveniently located stay at the Sint Niklaas, I decided to stay an extra night. The location is close to all of the main sites yet on a very quiet side street with little to no noise.

Because of the last minute decision to stay an extra night, I was able to experience both the Oval and the Belfort rooms. Both were very clean, comfortable and spacious. The best part of this B&B is Anne, the hostess. She was very helpful with advice on where to go, where to eat and where to enjoy the great Belgium beers.

I enjoyed my stay so much, I hope to return one day with my wife. If your travels take you to Brugge, stay at the Sint Niklaas B&B. You will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: The Belfort has a better view but it requires several more stairs. If stairs are an issue, you will...

An absolute fantastic location and Anne's hospitality was second to none! Our room was spacious, clean and had a superb view of one of the main churches.
Highly recommend and I would certainly be a return visitor.
