“Perfect apartment in the centre of Bruges”
Reviewed 21 July 2013 via mobile

We booked a two night stay at the Bonobo and requested a high floor. We got an email back to say that the only room left was on the ground floor, but we didn't mind too much. On arrival the owner was very friendly and welcoming and had plenty of information for us. He apologised that he didn't have any rooms on a high floor but that our room had the bedroom upstairs. He led us out to the courtyard to our room. It was perfect. It had its own little seating area outside and inside on the ground floor was a living room and kitchenette. Upstairs was a bathroom with full bath and shower and the bedroom. It was like having your own little house in Bruges. The view from our upstairs window was of a church spire. You could hear the church bells but this was only in the day time and not obtrusive in any way.
The location is perfect, a short walk away from everything you want to see in Bruges and within the main part of the city.
Parking is available at the hotel in a private locked car park for a small extra fee. We had planned to park at the city car park, but we moved to the hotels car park which was both secure and convenient as well as reasonable. You can also sit in the garden which is lovely after a hard days sightseeing.
We will definitely be returning to these apartments.

Very close to the centre of Bruges. Also an easy 15 minute walk with babes from railway station.( although over cobble stones, but that is Europe).the self catered apartment suited us very much combined with dining out when suited.Plenty of super markets to obtain the few groceries we needed.Apartment has a small fridge and a nice kitchenette .we had 6 days and used Bruges as our base and travelled to Brussels twice for a day.Bruges is busy during the day with the bus tours , but is nice late afternoon and evenings. We enjoyed very much.

Room Tip: Even only two of us we took a 4 sized apartment. The extra space was worth every "penny"

1. Location: Great - right within the town and so accessible. The hotel has a car park right behind the building. None of that "car park is 5 minutes away" stuff... just right behind the building. Fantastic.

2. Room: Perfect. The 5-6 person apartment we booked was so spacious, and clean. The windows all have meshes on them (a surprising amount of hotels don't). They also all have blinds. The beds are good and they provide lots of hangers - not of the stupid nail variety. Just your regular hangers so you can hang your clothes where there's space and not HAVE to fit all 10 shirts/pants/jackets into one closet. The lighting is great, bright without being harsh. I can't emphasize enough how poorly lit rooms bother me. The kitchenette gets things done in a jiffy and makes meal preparation easy.

3. Bathroom: The water pressure is good and the water, hot. Sometimes the heat fluctuates a little, but it is completely insignificant and should not bother anyone one bit. Another thing that bothers me when I stay in hotels is the terrible hairdryer they sometimes provide. Some of them barely provide enough heat or move enough air that it feels no different than someone blowing gently at your face. Thankfully, these guys provide you with usable (plug-it-anywhere, not those terrible ones which are mounted on walls) hairdryers that push lots of air which are plenty hot.

4. Connectivity: This place has the FASTEST internet I've used in any hotel/B&B/apartment/whatever. Whenever I book hotels I look for complimentary internet and they all say "high speed internet". When I check the speed after I check-in, I get like 50kB/s. I'm not sure in what world that's high speed - maybe back in 2003? Here, you can stream Youtube in HD and it will not stutter one bit or slow down web browsing. But please, be considerate and don't clog up the network.. especially during high usage hours (6pm-11pm). The signal is good at the apartment on the top floor, so I assume it is more than adequate throughout the house.

5. Service: These guys are very friendly and approachable. They offered great suggestions for dessert and chocolate shops and provided very good directions.

Now the negatives. These are pretty minor nitpicks and did not detract from our enjoyment of the apartment.

1. The mesh on one of the windows has come off from the frame. I think this is allowing some mosquitoes and insects to get in. Not a big deal - but I'm sure the owners will look into it.

2. At night, when the wind blows.. the stale smell from the canal enters the apartment (top floor, atleast). We can, of course shut the windows - but it was 30c during the day so apartment is a bit warm.. This is nothing that the proprietors can do, just something that I noticed and it should not bother anyone much.

I got other minor nitpicks.. but they would be a waste of time mentioning it.

In conclusion: Just book here, you won't regret it.

Could not recommend this place highly enough. The self contained apartment was very large, very well kept and very comfortable. Solid shutters at night block out all the noise, and light (which is great when the sun comes up before 5am) The owner was super helpful and very friendly.
If you can, ask for a garden apartment, as they open directly onto the courtyard garden which is delightful. Even if you are not in one of these, you still have access to the courtyard, which is a nice way to relax after walking the cobblestoned paths of Bruges all day.
The hotel itself is within a very short walk of the main attractions of Bruges.

Stayed for 3 nights last week and cannot recommend this small family run hotel enough. It's location is superb and the apartments are spacious and very well equipped plus very clean. The garden apartments will need very early booking as they are ground floor and you step directly into a cute courtyard gardenthat is an excellent suntrap. Love it.

We stayed here for our anniversary in December. Not much to add to other reviews, good value lovely apartments, private car park is so handy as we drove (only took 90 mins from Calais). The owners were extremely helpful and friendly.

Bruges is a beautiful, compact and safe city which is easily accessed from the apartments. We will definitely return and stay here with our children as it is perfect quiet, family accommodation. The little courtyard looked like it would be lovely to sit inside in warmer weather.

We travelled with 2 toddlers and an infant- in XL apartment. The kitchen was smll but just right to make breakfast and other baby food. There is a small lift for prams/heavy luggage.
Hans is very helpful and courteous at all times.
The market square is a short walk away. Absolutely loved it!

Room Tip: XL apartment is perfect for 2 families.
