This hotel was a perfect base for exploring Bruges, it was central enough for just popping back for a cup of tea and to drop things off whenever the mood took us.

The rooms were basic, but very clean and warm. The owners were friendly and helpful, they provided us with the loan of a guidebook and a map which was super useful when we wandered off and got lost.

All in all we were very happy and I would recommend the apartments to anyone.

Hard to find anything negative to say about this place. It has so many things going for it:

1) Location is perfect (quiet street but just 5 minute walk to main square)
2) Very clean
3) Great value
4) Owners are extremely friendly and helpful

The accommodation is basic but it never claims to be anything else. Perfect for a short stay in Bruges, highly recommended.

I stayed with my sister and Mum in December for the Christmas markets. We arrived late on a Friday and took a taxi the short distance from the station. The hotel is on a small street behind the cathedral - it felt like a long way from the centre but it is actually in a perfect position and you can walk everywhere from there. The hotel was not manned when we arrived but we were given a code to get in the main door and another code to get our key.
We had an XXL apartment on the top floor - 2 bedrooms (5 single beds) a lounge with 2 chairs whichever could be single sofa beds, large bathroom, kitchenette, dining area. It was perfect for us, as we had enough space to spread out, and could cook our own food. There is a supermarket about 5 minutes away.
We had a wheelchair for Mum and it fortunately just fitted it to the lift. It is 2 steep flights up to the XXL apartment.
The apartment was quite plain, being decorated in neutral colours but it was immaculately clean and did the job perfectly.
Hans and Magda are wonderful hosts and very helpful.
The Christmas markets are nothing special - we have better in the UK - but the city was decorated beautifully for Christmas. The walking tour from the Tourist Centre is well worth doing.

Stayed from Friday 12th - Monday 16th December with my partner. The owners, Hans and Magda, are every bit as helpful, approachable and friendly as the reviews below would have you believe. Every guest is lent a guide book and given a map as standard, and they both offered to stay an hour late when I was worried that we wouldn't arrive until after the designated check-in times.

We went for one of the apartments, which is generously proportioned and very well equipped, although it would have been nice if the kitchenette had an oven. There are several supermarkets nearby for cheap food to prepare at the apartment.

The location was excellent, barely a one-minute walk to the main Markt square and roughly a ten minute walk from Bruges station. Every attraction within Central Bruges is within walking distance of Bonobo Apart, and it's mainly for this reason that I happily recommend it.

Slightly negative points: It would have been much better to have an actual double bed in the room rather than two twin beds, although I do admit that this was probably down to me not reading the information properly. This is also the first hotel I've stayed at anywhere that charged for tea and coffee at reception.

Overall, we had a very pleasant stay here and would happily recommend it to anyone.

The Bonobo Apart Hotel is in an ideal location for a visit to Bruge. We stayed in a unit with kitchenette so we would be able to cook some of our meals. There is a grocery nearby. The unit does not have an oven but it worked just fine using the cooktop. The owners are friendly and helpful. The unit is very clean and comfortable. We would highly recommend the Bonobo Apart Hotel!

We just couldn't fault our stay at this hotel. The owners are very friendly and helpful, even providing you with a guide book for your stay! The location is excellent with all of the attractions only a short walk away. Having a kitchenette meant that meals (and drinks!) could be cheaper too. Would highly recommend staying here.

I arranged this 3 day trip to Bruges as a birthday gift for my mother who has recently celebrated her 77th Birthday and has never visited the Christmas markets. I wanted a place to take her with my two daughters so that we could spend some time together in a place that would appeal to a widely differing age group. I already knew that Bruges would not disappoint, with its beautiful architecture, friendly people and interesting shops, market and places to eat and drink and wanted somewhere to stay that was central and where we could all be together rather than in separate rooms and where there was parking. The Bonobo proved to be a perfect choice. Hans and Magda gave us a very warm welcome from the moment of our arrival, were very informative and helpful and had kindly given us an upgrade. We had a superb two bedroom, top floor apartment that was modern, well appointed and very warm with lovely views out of the windows. It was ideal to return to after forays to explore the delights of the town, have a break and then set out again, particularly so with an older person in our party. It was a wonderful trip but not long enough, which gives us a reason to go again - and it will definitely be to the Bonobo. Thank you Magda and Hans for a wonderful stay.
