“Excellent central location and a very pleasant base "In Bruges"”
Reviewed 2 April 2013

Stayed at Hotel Loreto over the long Easter Weekend and chose it mainly on the back of other Tripadvisor reviews. We arrived quite late on the Friday (courtesy of Eurotunnel "cancellations") but phoned ahead and lady was fine and let us in even though place shut etc.

The Hotel is very centrally located just off one of the main streets and a five minute walk of so to the Main Square.

Rooms quite small but clean and bathroom immaculate with powerful shower. (Only slight gripe for me was that due to being on the top (third) floor the ceilings were sloping and difficult if your'e tall and male to go for a wee etc. This is though part of the charm of old buildings!).

Breakfast very good and a buffet selection of cold meats and cheese. Interesting and fun thing is the egg boiler where you attach your egg and leave it there until its done to your liking (5 mins should do for runny!).

There is an excellent boat tour just after leaving the hotel on the left. This was a good start to our trip and seemed the helmsman took his time rather than zooming round like some of the other operators! You also get 10% off with a card the hotel give you.

We paid 360 euros for three nights which is quite pricey but not by Bruges standards.

Room Tip: If your are tall try and avoid rooms on third floor due to sloping ceilings.

Rolled my suitcase 1/2 mile from the train station through charming, characterful streets to this perfectly located small owner-managed inn, steps from Brugge's best sites, food, shopping, music etc, and half a block from an excellent canal boat tour. Good soundproofing on streetwise rooms, strong wifi in public areas, posh breakfast buffet included. Plain but spotless rooms. Gracious, helpful owner at the front desk. Brugge grew on me!

Hotel Loreto is in the heart of the city, this makes it the best location for touring Bruges. The Staff is welcoming and very helpful on finding the local paid parking (only 8.50 Euro per day). Breakfast included, which was wonderful and plenty to choice from meats, cheeses, bread and cereal. There are plenty of restaurants, shops and sightseeing in the area.

Stayed in the hotel after the new year. I usually resort to bigger chains and 4 stars but this little private 3 star actually blew me away with clean cozy rooms, excellent breakfast and overall experience!

Great location and nice, cosy and friendly hotel in walking distance from railway station. It's an ideal place to go all the sightseeing in the city. A lot of chocolate's shops are situated nearly in front of the entrance.

Great hotel I would heartily recommend it to visitors to Bruges due to its fantastic central location and proximity to the train station but also because the staff of the hotel are wonderfully helpful and pleasant and maintain a delightful, clean and friendly hotel.

This is why:

- great location: right in the middle of the city, you have access to every site, monument, museum etc. If you go visiting the city, you can easily return to the hotel at one point if you want to freshen up. You have to walk for max.10 minutes from the train station (easy access).

- comfortable accommodation: we were 3 adults in a triple and we had enough space to move around. The beds were comfy and the room and bath were clean.

- nice breakfast : you have where to choose from, the food is fresh and tasty, the small restaurant is very intimate and appropriate for a relaxing breakfast moment (it empowers you to go visit).

- it's all you need from a hotel in Bruges (it contributes to an authentic Bruges experience)

- free internet

I have no bad points to highlight!
