“Wonderful stay”
Reviewed 13 October 2013

We stayed at Charming Brugge for 2 nights; the Finesse package (with dinner at 3 Michelin-starred Hertog Jan) was a birthday/ wedding present for my husband. Every aspect of the stay was delightful. The B&B, just a 10-minute walk from Markt, is ideally situated for driving to Bruges without having to tackle the nightmarish one-way system in the old city. Christoph was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about Bruges, with a down-to-earth style we appreciated very much. The house is beautifully restored, with high ceilings and interesting features (check out the chandelier in the breakfast room!) all contributing to a stylish but relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast was delicious both days. We splurged on a session in the sauna and pool on the Saturday afternoon which was absolutely gorgeous and a good way to relax before a sublime evening at Hertog Jan. All in all, the experience was a highly memorable one, exceeding our - extremely high - expectations!

Room Tip: We stayed in Le Roi Sebastian as part of the package we chose - loved the chocolate decor and old fu...

We stayed here for 3 nights in April 2013, so this review is long overdue. I love Bruges, however this is the first time I have stayed overnight and I am a firm believer in staying in b&b's to get a real feel for a place (hotels are generic and often the same everywhere). I was not disappointed, the house itself is beautiful and beautifully decorated/furnished, a lot of work has gone into this house!

We stayed in the white room (see picture), I believe this is the standard room (i'm a student) but it was lovely, it was beautifully furnished and the bed was so comfy, in the bathroom they had ralph lauren towels! The breakfast was amazing (again, see picture) you get the continental breakfast as seen on the table (beautiful table!), and also eggs cooked to your liking and then afterwards a little homemade breakfast desert!

The location for us was great, it is a 15 minute walk into the centre, a lovely walk but perhaps if this is a problem for you, I would stay somewhere more central, it is quite a distance from the train station also. But not a problem for us, the walk is lovely and the hotel is definitely worth it. It is in a nice quiet residential area, just sitting on the outskirts of the centre of Bruges.

Room Tip: White room is lovely, airy and light and looks onto the garden.

We stayed for two nights at Charming B&B. The name does this place justice!

When we arrived we received tips from the owner on where to go and what to skip, and a map of the city. You can also find restaurant tips in the hallway.

The room and the house:
Everything looked meticulate, the house has been decorated with eye for detail and it's very clean.

The B&B is located at the ring road of Bruges, walking to the market square takes about 10-15 minutes. We rented bikes to explore Bruges which was quite nice, you can see a lot in one day.

Finally, breakfast is a treat, don't skip it! It's different every day and to top it off there's a dessert too.

If we decide to go back to Bruges again we'll definately come back!

This is the most stylish bed and breakfast you will ever find - Christoph the owner, an interior designer has beautifully restored this old Bruges house and added a wonderful contemporary twist to the interiors. He was so helpful with all his suggestions to explore the city - breakfast was delightful - we will be back!

My wife and I stayed for one night at the Charming Brugge B&B during a European driving holiday, to be honest we both wish we had stayed for several more days. We were fairly apprehensive at first as we rarely stay in B&B's, preferring instead to go for hotels. However this place is significantly different and far better than any hotel that we have stayed in. We chose the place purely from TripAdvisor and we were not let down at all.

Even before our arrival there was excellent communication via Email. We arranged an early arrival to drop off our baggage, which was not a problem. Our host gave us the time to talk us through the best places to visit, he provided a map and highlighted all the best areas in Brugges to go. It really is only a 10 to 15 minute walk directly into the centre of the old town and furthermore it is a nice walk.

On our return we were assisted to our room. (Chocolate Suite). The room was outstanding with the most comfy bed I have ever slept in. I only wish I knew where to buy a mattress like that. There was a huge TV albeit with local channels. The linen was all clean and even the towels were RL Polo designer style. The room and indeed the whole house is immaculate and like something you would see on a design show on TV. The old house has been tastefully restored with the highest of quality throughout. Our room was huge and stunningly laid out. The bathroom was modern with quality fixtures such as bath and shower over. They have even gone to the trouble of providing trendy 'Rituals' lotions and potions.

Breakfast was something else. We thought that we had an idea from reading the TripAdvisor reviews beforehand but believe me, they do not do it justice. There was everything you could imagine and some more on top. All of the freshest ingredients and home cooked quality.

We left wishing that we had stayed longer and will certainly try to return with friends. An amazing experience coupled with amazing friendly hosts, amazing decor and a breakfast to die for.

Room Tip: They are all good but book early!

The B&B is much better in real life than it shows in the pictures. Attention has been paid to every little detail starting from the premium brands used for the room dressing right to the breakfast with our hosts very personal touch (from fresh pancakes to croissants, etc).

You will particularly like it during a good weather where staying in and spending the evening on the terrace may prove much more fun an experience than going out.

All in all, the hosts personal touch makes the experience unique

Our friends recommended this place to us and we're really glad they did. We stayed for two nights, and would have wanted to stay more if that had been possible. There was a horrible traffic jam when we drove here but all the stress just washed away the minute we set our foot to this place, and that was because of the warm and helpful welcome we got. We also got some super nice tips regarding restaurants.

The breakfast must have been the best breakfast we have ever had and I have to say that my husband and I are quite picky. There were just the right amount of different treats so that you can try everything. Everything was very fresh and delicious. The room they serve the breakfast in is breathtakingly beautiful and so was the Blue room we stayed in.

You can really tell that the owner's have put their heart and soul to this B&B and I'm sure that when we go back to Bruges we know where we want to stay.
