My Mothers 80th birthday present. So I wanted somewhere nice but affordable. The rooms were excellent as was the breakfast. The hotel is on the corner of market square so no big travel issues. There is a great shop opposite if you don't want an excessive bar bill. No Wifi except in the Lobby? Lost the fifth star

Room Tip: No Wifi or pool

Good location on the edge of the old town, so great for walking around. Good public transport connections. Room was simple, clean and air conditioned. Reception is only manned for part of the day. Breakfast was pleasant. Wifi works in the breakfast room and reception but did not reach my room. Restaurant downstairs was pretty good. An enjoyable location. Tourist information right over the road. Helpful receptionist.

We stayed here for one night as part of a group of couples on a birthday weekend away. We had 3 adjacent rooms on the 3rd floor. Arriving by train, we found the place by crossing the square in front of the station, crossing the road and walking on the footpath to the left, for a few hundred yards until just after a modern, red-brick concert hall. When we arrived (on a Saturday morning) there were some market stalls set out, and there was a nice lively atmosphere as people were sat outside the restaurants and small hotels. As we checked in, we were given plenty of useful advice about what to see (and not to bother seeing) during our stay in Bruges, and our points of interest were marked out on a map for us to help us get started.
The rooms were pleasant and light. The only slight issue was that our room had an adjoining door to the next room. Of course it was locked, but didn't isolate the us from voices next door as much as we would have liked. That said, the room was quiet, beds were comfortable so no complaints. We didn't try the food there, and had to leave early morning before breakfast. Overall a very pleasant stay in a lovely city.

Arrived at around 10.45pm and found key to the room on the desk at reception with my name on it. No staff around, which felt slightly haphazard. Still, went to the room. Comfortable enough for the price, with big clean bathroom (with bath). Easy enough to open window for ventilation or use air conditioning. Tried to ring reception to find out about the alleged free wifi, but couldn't get an answer and there was no information about it (although there was a network with the hotel's name). Double bed was two single beds joined together, which is fine, but others may not find that comfortable.

However, the price was good (under 100 euro a night) and the location was excellent. 10 minute walk from the station, same into the centre of town, with a variety of different places to eat on the way. The hotel is on T'Zand square, so every Saturday morning there is a huge market selling food, clothing and all sort of other items that are fun to wander around. However, you can't lie in here, because Bruges gets busy on a Saturday morning and so there is lot of people about, even a barrel organ. Breakfast was fairly standard continental, a few choices of cereal, yoghurt, some freshly squeezed orange juice, some excellent bread and meats/cheeses. Not the best I've had, but decent enough to start the day with some good coffee.

In short, I'd stay there again as long as the price was right.

Room Tip: Rooms facing away from the square are marginally quieter.
