We dined at Chez Olivier on our final night in Bruges as a treat - and what a treat is was. It was a proper 'sit down, have a nice glass of wine, take your time and enjoy your surroundings' ( as it is right on the canal) kind of an evening.
We had the set menu that was on offer that evening which was priced at circa 60 euros for 3 courses and 70 euros for 4 courses - and it was magnificent.
The dishes were of such a high standard and it was great to see a chef, who obviously knows what he is doing, not try and show off with the dishes and let the quality of the ingredients do the talking.
Mme Olivier who is in charge of the 'front of house' , looked after us so well and has mastered the art of unobtrusive attentiveness to a tee - she was a truly lovely hostess, and that combined with the quality of the food made our last night in Bruges memorable.
