I had the crab and chicken start with the lemon dessert. Just excellent in its presentation and taste. Wine were good too. Also it comes with bread and delish butter, along with sliced popcorn on my night.
Highly recommend

My wife and I visited Bruges for the first time last month, and had been recommended various "posh" restaurants, one of which was just a few doors up from Rock Fort. Slightly disappointed with our first choice (under new ownership-you know which one I mean!) we walked past this tiny little place on the way back to the Hotel, so decided to reserve it for the following evening.

What can I say?
The place was packed with a slightly "younger, eclectic and less touristy mix" of diners but we were given a superb little table right in the main dining area.
The service was incredibly friendly and they couldn't do enough to please.
We chose a simple crisp white wine from the short but interesting wine list, and it was fantastic for the price.
Then the food: absolutely spot on. Delicious, enough of it to not wish you had ordered more, yet small enough portions (and prices) to permit us to sail through a three course meal without feeling bloated-something we rarely manage in most restaurants.

In summary, whilst no "Michelin Star experience" ( although there is one of these next door if that's what you are looking for) I can say that it was one of the most enjoyable evenings in a restaurant for many a year.
Well done to the owner and staff, for making "us tourists" feel welcome, and clearly they put passion in to providing a "complete dining experience".

We had 4 meals out on our visit to bruges - we are from Australia and we dined here twice
The first night did not have a reservation and chose to have meal at the bar area - it was a delicious paella with superbly cooked baby mussels. Devine
So we booked for the Monday night ( they are not open weekends) and enjoyed the most amazing 4 course meal
First was smoked eel and apple
Second. Baby lobster with tiny tiny balls of pasta ( like caviar)
Third. Veal and vegs So tender and tasty
Fourth. Red berries and home made Icecream with salted nuts crumble
Yuuuuuuumm
One of the niceest meals we have experienced anywhere
Each course so different but complemented each other
Service was knowledgeable professional and friendly and the owner and chef run in and around the restaurant. The restaurant was full when we left
It is surrounded by restaurants. But it shines
We were lucky it was across from our bed and breakfast ( another standout Yasmine gallery b & b. See separate review)
When in. Bruges dine here you won't be sorry. But you must book

Creative and perfectly executed meal in a modern setting. We were told of Rock Fort by a local Bruges couple and can't be more happy that we tried it. We were greeted by a courteous and friendly staff who were very attentive and helpful. We did the tasting menu, so it's unlikely you will have exactly the same options, but I loved the smoked eel course. It was perfectly balanced and light. All the courses were presented beautifully and execution was top notch. And if you are a G&T fan of any sort, they had one of the best. Cucumber slices in the bottom of a large balloon wine glass with ice and Hendricks gin. Served with a great tonic to pour over the juniper berries topping the ice. Perfect evening!
