Visited this restaurant following a recommendation by our hotel and we were not disappointed. This is a charming building with a cosy dining area serving a variety of traditional Belgian dishes. The waitress was very knowledgable when it came to the gluten free options on the menu and I was surprised at the amount of choices I had available (which is rare even in the UK)! I settled on lamb chops with mash potato and green beans which was delicious whilst my other half had an equally tasty fish dish.

Best restaurant in bruges the service is great.... And the food is one of tue best in Belgium...the fish soup, escargots, lobster with asparagus.... My husband asked for the soup of the day and langoustines.... All very good!

We are a group of 15 travelers so feeding all of us on time gets harder so a fixed menu was the answer. Started with escargot or asparagus soup or mushrooms on toast. Pickled herring and wonderful fresh bread was on the table. The beef stew was only beef- no carrots or veggies or potatoes so that was a surprise. It came with really good applesauce and fries. Fish was good: salmon and the sole very fresh.

Good place for groups !

I've been visiting De Koetse since 2015. In a touristic destination as Brugge, sometimes it is difficult to find quality restaurants. Well, this is not the case. The food quality it is really superior, the service quite good and the deco simple but cosy. The fish is brilliant and they serve my favorite mussels in Belgium.

We ate at De Koetse on the recommendation of our hotel. Yipes! The restaurant itself is pleasant and cozy. The food...well. The fix-price for dinner hovers around 38 Euros, but beware: there are add-on charges for almost every dish. Want lamb? That will be another 3 to 5 Euros. Want lobster? Another 25. This is tourist food at its indifferent, lackluster worst. My wife had a fish skewer dish which was so tough as to be largely inedible. I had lamb which was largely flavorless. We went to dinner with few expectations, and we were proven wrong. Service was brusque to the point of unfriendliness. In a town filled with eating establishments that pander to the Nikon-wearing hoards, De Koetse is just another high-priced rip-off...
