Stayed here for 2 nights at the beginning of June, 2014. We were requested to arrive between 18.00 and 20.00 hrs. However, on arrival at 18.00 hrs, we could not get in, so we telephoned the owner who gave us a code number to enter into the security system which gave us access. Our room / front door key was waiting for us on the hall table, whereafter everything was fine. There is no lift, so be aware of this. We stayed in the Gentle Grape Room on the 2nd floor ( 3rd floor USA equivalent ) which was very clean and comfortable and just like the website photos.. Breakfast was one sitting at 08.00 and was a very good continental breakfast.
The location is excellent, just behind the imposing Cloth Hall, where the Flanders Field Museum is located. As the website says : the accommodation is just a 5 minute walk to the Menin Gate.
There is no car park, however, the main car park is just 20 metres away and is reasonably priced during the day and free from 18.00 to 09.00. We arrived in Ypres at about 17.20 hrs, paid for 1 hour which took us to 09.20 hrs. the next morning. Which, because of the 08.00 breakfast was absolutely fine, as we were off to the battlefield / graveyard sites before then.
Immediately across the road on the corner, opposite the Sabbajon B&B, is a fabulous Belgium Fish and Chip shop where we dined. Not only fish & chips but chicken and burgers etc. All very reasonably priced.
I would recommend this accommodation in Ypres.

Room Tip: There is no lift.

We enjoyed bank holiday weekend in Ypres. It is a fabulous place and Sabbajon is ideally situated in the heart of the town. Very clean and tidy with spacious rooms. Beds and showers are very good. We stayed with our 2 young children, they shared the room with us and we had a great time. Parking is available on the road for free but at busy times you will need to park in the nearby square.

Room Tip: Be prepared for the toilet in your room. It is not private or enclosed. There is a cloakroom in rece...

This was a lovely B&B located close to the centre of Ypres. The room was not just clean and modern, but was comfortable and well presented with everything you could need. The shower in particular was excellent.
The host was a lovely lady, helpful and able to offer advice.
Breakfast was plenty, with a good choice of cold options. There was also a choice of eggs. As it was Easter my daughter made the most of the eggs and chocolate in the breakfast room.

Would definitely recommend to everyone.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Orange room. This is at the back of the house on the first floor. It was very quiet...

Say here for Jo's great welcome and hospitality - stay here for the stunningly relaxing room decor - good breakfast - and dinner at Old Tom!!

Our second visit here but several to Ypres - classy town and the 20.00 service at the Menin Gate should not bemissed

Room Tip: The rooms to the rear are probably a little quieter as the road to the front is cobbled! Don't a...

We booked for one night and our teenage daughters had the green room and my husband, myself and our 9 year old had the orange room. Each room was immaculate, fresh, spacious and very well equipped. The bath and shower were luxurious as were the beds. Jo the owner showed us to our rooms and talked us through the heating controls etc. We asked Jo if she could recommend a family restaurant for The Saturday night, she said she would book the table for us. (Delicious meal) We spent the afternoon and evening exploring Ypres and the Christmas market which were a 2 minute walk. Breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs with toast, Danishes, fruit, cereals, yogurts, cheeses, ham and plenty more to set us up for the day ahead. Jo is an amazing host, we really couldn't have asked for a better place to stay and would thoroughly recommend saBBajon bed and breakfast! Thank you....

My partner and I said overnight in the B&B saBBajon. Jo the owner couldn't have been more helpful before our arrival. We requested a gluten free breakfast and it was provided and more. We stayed in the beautiful Gentle Grape Room. The open plan room may not be to everyone tastes, but we loved it. The hotel is modern and very well designed. My partner particularly enjoyed the shower and told Jo the next morning that he felt like a "Ferrari in a car wash!".

The room overlooked the garden and was very peaceful. The breakfast was out of this world, freshly scrambled eggs, gluten free bread and buns and the local cheeses were delicious.

We would highly recommend the B&B saBBajon to anyone wishing to visit Ieper (Ypres)

Room Tip: As said in the review the Gentle Grape room is on the second floor and garden facing. It also has a...
