“Strange but quaint little Museum”
Reviewed 25 October 2013

Situated at the back of a Pub , this little Museum is very different to the usual ones and because of that worth a visit. Just outside the Museum up a footpath by the Lille Gate is the Ramparts CWG with beautiful views over the lake.Combine the two together for a worth while visit.

Nice to combine with a visit to the ramparts cemetery which is adjacent. Small but interesting museum accessed from the back yard of the bar

“Very good”
Reviewed 6 September 2013

Much more than we expected...well prepared displays...good value...only 30m mins so needs to be part of a plan for a day/half a day but can easily be linked to a ramparts walk.

Plus...nice bar and very friendly staff...Kind regards,
Dave

“interesting”
Reviewed 11 August 2013

this is a small museum, but still worth a visit and a beer outside before or after walking the ramparts. the noise inside and the layout gives you a small idea of things, but lets hope we never have to experience it for real.there are some intersting items not only inside the museum but also the bar.

“It is okay, very tiny”
Reviewed 25 July 2013

Like Hooge it is a Tiny museum – but even smaller than Hooge. A few nick nacks from The First World War and some photographs – an interesting one where on a pseudo washing line are hung 100s of dead rats that the killed in the trenches. There is a pub next to it that sells Ramparts ale. Many of the NMBS are connoisseurs of fine ale and they stated the ale tasted like wet dog. Opposite under the arch of a bridge are some old CWGC signs that are worth a photo.
