Have stayed a number of times over the years whilst visiting the Western Front, always made to feel very welcome. Staff are lovely and many have been there for years, rooms are very nice, food is good and bar area nice to relax in, car parking and a ten minute walk to the square and the Menin Gate. Car parking is difficult during the afternoon as the locals all pop in for afternoon tea ! Ypres is also a nice little town to spend a few days and quite close to Calais.

Room Tip: Probably quieter at the back, as the road and carpark in front are cobbled !

We spent the first week of August at the Ariane. I have stayed an two different hotels in Ieper which, although nice, absolutely cannot compare with this hotel. The staff could not have been more courteous and helpful, the rooms were spacious and comfy, and the dining a delicious experience. It's a pleasant short walk to the Menin Gate and the Cloth Hall. The hotel is full of pictures and displays honoring veterans of the Great War -- all are done tastefully, reflecting respect and appropriate remembrance. The Ariane is without doubt our home in Ieper!

Stayed there for two nights, with my mother and brother, and had two adjacent rooms between the three of us. The Ariane is a lovely hotel, in beautiful surroundings, close to the Groot Markt and the Menin Gate. Rooms were lovely as were ALL the staff (receptionists, waiters/waitresses, barmen, housemaids, handymen, etc). We had a meal the night we arrived which was delicious. Breakfast on both mornings was very nice. While we were there we also had meals from the snack menu, and waffles and ice cream for afternoon tea, which all were reasonably priced as well as being excellent. There was also plenty of parking either in the hotel car park or in the street, alongside the hotel (where spaces, end on to the pavement, were long/wide for the larger car). The hotel is ideally situated for visiting the WW1 cemeteries and provides information and books, as well as tickets, to various museums. The hotel was so lovely we hated leaving. In fact it's one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at.

Room Tip: The rooms we had, overlooking the garden, were very nice

Very nice hotel in a great loaction close to the Menai gate with helpful and courteous staff who new what they were doing. Parking was a little tight when we arrived

Had upgraded to a premium room which was very spacious with a good sized and comfortable sitting area. The TV also showed BBC 1 and BBC 2 channels for us english speakers.

The bathroom was let down with a defective shower. The button which prevents you having the water to hot was missing and hence allowed scalding water to come out of the shower head, there was a green button on the other side of shower whic seemed to do nothing. I am suprised the hotel allows a room to be used with a defective safety device.

Breakfast was excellent, there was no restaurant open on a sunday evening so we could not try this but bar snacks were available from the helpfull bar staff

Often stopping at Ypres on my way back to the UK from business trips in Northern Europe I have stayed in Ypres in different hotels. I always end up going back to the Ariane. It has free parking, great rooms, superb staff and a fabulous bar and restaurant. 10 minutes walk to the Menin Gate and the centre of Ypres it's location could not be better. The breakfast is also of a very high standard with a great selection of fresh baked breads.

Room Tip: all rooms are good

This hotel gives you the very best position in Ypres, and if you want to get to town centre or the Manhim Gate you are easy walking distance. We stayed in and had both our evening meals in the hotel restaurant, and were very satisfied, not only with the food, but the staff could not do enough for us. Rooms are larger than normally found in city/town hotels, and the bed was very comfortable, it is really a place to stay when in Ypres.

Room Tip: The hotel is situated in a quiet area of Ypres so all rooms are similar.

The whole experience was excellent. From checking in to checking out. Breakfast was just right with a bread bar that was outstanding. As an extra They loaned an umbrella for a wet walk to town which is a great place too. My room was very pleasant and had plenty of light.
