“Terrific Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 September 2013

We stayed 3 nights at the Regina. Great hotel and very nice spacious room on the 1st floor. The room had been updated with a beautifuL bathroom and all comforts. I especially liked the free coffee maker and sparkling water. At the end of our stay the owner drove us to the station. Talk about good service! Would recommend highly.

As mentioned before the location of this hotel is perfect; just opposite the Cloth Hall. The hotel is in an older building and is undergoing gradual renovation. We were given one of the older rooms (Ensor) which was large and full of character with plenty of extras such as biscuits and pod coffee maker, topped off with a wonderful view out of the window towards the Cloth Hall. Breakfast was varied with an endless supply of good coffee and good conversation from Kris one of the owners.
We spent only one night here which was a shame because Ieper is beautiful and well worth a longer visit. We are returning in 2014 and will stay at the Regina and take advantage of the excellent prices before the upgrades are finished and the prices rise accordingly.
Pay Parking available on the square for a reasonable cost and if you overstay, the fine is only 10 euros, so even with the fine it is cheap parking. Remember not to park on market day (Saturday).

We stayed here for one night in September with our daughter had two rooms which couldn't have been more different, they had a very modern room which was excellent with a lovely view and we had one of the older style rooms which over looked a wall! However it didn't detract from our stay as both rooms were equally comfortable and extremely clean. Breakfast was wonderful and all the staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. Definitely would recommend it and would stay here every time. Well done a great experience and wished we had booked for longer.

We had a great stay here. As mentioned in other reviews it's about the best location in Ypres as it faces onto the main tourism square and has immediate access to restaurants, shops, the bus stop and the pick-up and drop-off location for most tours.

We arrived long before check-in time and the staff were very friendly letting us store our bags while the room was being cleaned. When we returned several hours later, as a thank-you for our patience, they upgraded us to a larger room.

Some things in the room looked old and tired, but the room was clean and comfortable and the new owners are in the process of updating things. We had the best sleep of our trip.

We have each travelled extensively for both work and pleasure and neither of us can remember having ever stayed at a hotel where the staff went so far out of their own ways to make sure we had a pleasant stay.

Room Tip: If you have any issues whatsoever, do not hesitate to tell them while you are there! They are very...

I stayed at this hotel in July with a group of friends during a motorcycle touring holiday.
The hotel is located on the end of the main square in Ypres opposite the Cloth Hall and while it does have a good bar and restaurant, it is very close to a number of excellent bar restaurants within the square.
Our rooms were on the first floor, one facing a side street, the other on the corner of the main square and the side street. Our room was clean and comfortable but noisy during the early hours due to delivery vehicles and pedestrians.
The staircase leading to the first floor was dark even during the day and the stairs were quite steep when carrying luggage, that said there was a lift available. The colour scheme was
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the service at meal times was extremely good. As expected the breakfast was a continental buffet style.
We were able to park our motorcycles in a secure garage which was close to but not attached
to the hotel.
Ypres and the surrounding area is full of reminders of WW1 and whether it be museums, memorials or the nightly ceremony at the Menin Gate, they are tasteful and respectful.
I believe the hotel was good value and have no problem in recommending it to others and would stay there again should I revisit Ypres.

I stayed here for one night [Saturday] while visiting my great-grandfather's war grave.
This is a great value-for-money hotel superbly located on the main square in Ieper directly opposite the Cloth Hall.
The owners were very friendly and helpful and the room was clean and tidy with a TV which received a couple of UK channels. The continental breakfast was really good with as much tea, coffee and orange juice as you could drink.
Unfortunately the restaurant was closed when I visited and I never got round to asking why [although there are numerous bars and restaurants situated on the square so it was no real hardship]. Consequently the outside terrace was operating as a 'bar only' but provided good value for money.
Would definitely stay here again.
