If a visit to the WW I historic region, battle sights and military cemeteries around Ieper (Ypres) in Belgium is on your travel plan, a stay at TER THUYNE bed and breakfast in the center of Ieper will enhance your stay. It is located 5 minutes by foot from both the main square and the railroad station and across the street from a laundromat. Martine, your english speaking host, knows just what comforts and ammenities her guests will appreciate-----comfortable beds in nicely decorated, quiet rooms kept spotlessly clean. Each room is provided with a T.V., coffee, tea, chocolate, water, and treats. Delicious breakfasts with many choices are tastefully served. Guests are welcome to sit and walk in the beautiful back garden. The repeat guests who come here are a testament to the comfort and quality of TER THUYNE and to its gracious host. A superb b&b!

We stayed in this peaceful and charming haven for three nights in May 2012 and think it must be the best in Belgium. Martine, a gracious hostess, catered to our every need with a smile. Chocolates on the pillows, a lovely breakfast, everything you could want in this beautiful city

I have just spent a fantastic few days at Ter Thuyne whilst visiting Ieper to watch my son and the Army Cadets parade at the Menin Gate during Armistice week.
Martine is a wonderful host and has a beautiful home set in the heart of Ieper. The rooms are very comfortable and excellent VFM, and Martine prepares a continental breakfast that means you won't want anything to eat until evening!
I would recommend Ter Thuyne wholeheartedly, and as I stated in the guest book, I hope to visit again sometime.

I live in Flanders myself (about a hundred miles from Ieper), but I’ve been visiting the Westhoek a couple of times a year for a dozen years now. I’ve stayed in hotels here and there and stayed at most of the b&b’s in Ieper. In Ter Thuyne, I am a regular since first I stayed there, not long after it opened. Nowhere have I felt more at ease than here. Can’t pinpoint why that is, really. Is it the never-failing helpfulness of the hostess and her charming chats over widely varied breakfasts, the great coffee, the wonderful cosiness and tastefulness of the rooms, the beauty of the house itself? Or is it the quality of the beds? (I swear every time my head hits the pillow, a broad smile of contentment comes over me.)
You want to be sure of a stay you won’t regret? Stay at Ter Thuyne. I can’t say how many times I’ve stayed here now, and I’m always sad to leave. But each time again I think of Schwarzenegger’s famous words: “I’ll be back ...”

Just returned from a visit to Ieper for the Rememberance services and Battlefield tours and can thoroughly recommend Ter Thuyne. Martine is an exceptional hostess and the house is great; large airy rooms that are spotlessly clean and with very comfortable beds together with a large and filling continental breakfast plus the little extras of bottles of water and chocolates make this unmissable.

It is very well situated within easy reach of the main square, railway station and car parking and the roads out to the huge number of war related sites are on the doorstep so whatever your visit is for everything is to hand.

This is a must stay in Ieper. Its host Martine is very welcoming, friendly and her treats are delightful. She is very knowledgable and a fantastic host. Breakfast is lovely. When we had an early train Martine packed us lunch instead of breakfast. The laundrymat across the road is handy. Ieper is full of WW1 history and delightful chocolate and other food places. A must stay where we hope to return to.
