Chef Louis (originally from Belgium) and his delightful wife Anneke hosted our group of 25 for a luncheon recently. The menu was exquisite and compares with the best I have tasted in my local and international travels. On arrival, our guests were treated with freshly oven-baked canapés and a welcoming drink. The starter was a refreshingly light fish consume made with local steenbras that has never seen a freezer (and most likely caught by our resident chef himself). The main course was crisp roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables and eland (venison) roulade with a creamy mushroom and aubergine sauce. Desert included: fresh fruit salad, chocolate torte and baked malva pudding. In summary: this was a menu from heaven!! Thank you Louis and Anneke for an unforgettable culinary and hospitality experience, we shall be back soon.
