Greece is so much more than Crete, Rhodes etc. Mani is a bit difficult to reach, but its certainly worth the effort. And in this rather faraway part pf Greece you will be surprised to find a hotel with such a quality, faithful to the local traditions. Clean, friendly and meals of excellent quality made our stay a genuine greek experience. Gerolimenas has a charm its more and more difficult to find in modern Greece and even its a modern hotel with all the facilities you need, its well integreted in the local atmosphere. Keep it like that and we will be back soon.

Very historic place in beautiful rural Mani. Renovated with a caring and tasteful eye and contains all the physical comforts you may want. We tried two rooms as we asked to swap after two nights in the very historic tower house room, which although interesting is far from practical - (Steep stairs with low beams you might hit your head on when descending stairs at night to reach the ground floor bathroom). Our second room was a standard room but much more practical inside. We enjoyed that. You can ask for all the service you need and they will provide it. Although it seems everything works a little slowly here. Not an awful lot of pro-activity and staff seems to dress beyond casual. Very friendly though. Just don't be in a hurry.

That also goes for the restaurant where we had rather on/off experiences. Lovely well prepared breakfasts that contain everything you could ever want and then some. But on a busy weekend the kitchen clearly couldn't cope and the wait was very long. Also in the evening where you might easily wait 45min+ between courses . But the end result is usually good ( a few hickups excepted such as overcooked and very dry chicken and rubbery creme patissiere in the merengue desert) - do try the octopus with fava beans - just delicious.
The pool area is comfortable although small so that one family with children might easily dominate the area very much to the dismay of the rest of the clientele which is primarily couples. The hotel could perhaps use a stronger profile in which market they target - otherwise they risk scaring others away. Direct access to the beach with pristine waters. And do go for excursions in the area - really interesting and lots to see. The town of Gerolimenas itself however is really rather grim and in a very derelict state - very poor it seems and much in need of renovation.

Room Tip: beware of tower house room - not very practical although truely historic.

We have just returned from a 6 night stay at the Kyrimai. The setting of the hotel is beautiful with the hotel being situated right next to the sea. The rustic design of this boutique hotel is lovely and full of character. The pool area is compact but with great subeds and a superb view. The hotel restaurant is good and one of the few places in the town where you have a full menu and wine list to choose from- for most of the local tavernas the choice is generally 'meat or fish?'. We had a very enjoyable stay and would happily return.

This is the 3rd time we stayed at Kyrimai, we simply love its location, its peacefulness, the rooms decoration, its good kitchen, and the professionalism of the staff. Mani is a great place to visit and coming back to Kyrimai has always been a delight for us.

Room Tip: Rooms are charming, those with the sea view obviously the best

Gerolimenas is a sleepy seaside village and Kyrimai is an unexpected luxury. The architecture is typical of Mani which is a plus for us. Our two level loft had great views of the pool and the sea. The breakfast was a tasty feast. The pool was welcoming, although lounge chairs were limited in number. Service was excellent all around. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant one night and it was top notch, innovative and delicious, although pricey.

This hotel is an absolute dream. Built in the style of the Mani region in Greece, with stones, this hotel sits right on the water at the end of the peninsula, and is an absolute delight. The hotel is beautiful and feels like a home. Service is great all around, from the reception desk to the restaurant/bar. The staff could not do anymore to be of help and make us feel welcome. I had sprained my ankle and they made sure I had a room on the first floor so I would not have to climb too many stairs. They carried all our luggage for us. They accommodated dietary restrictions and special requests. I could not recommend them more highly!

Room Tip: If you can climb stairs, get a room with a view of the sea.
