this is a very small restaurant on one of the prettiest little street in evora. what a find. the owner behind the bar and his wife who is cooking in a tiny kitchen just behind is whipping out miracle in cuisine. he uses mirror to showcase his desert. and the black pork is right there to be sliced. he gave us excellent recommendations to share for two people. black pork, grilled cheese, mushroom to start, finish with dry cod fish scrambled egg. perfect perfect lunch made all the more fun and cozy by the nice service and the other patrons in this tiny establishment of about 8-10 seatings. when we got up and left, everyone said a warm goodbye to us, the owner took photos for us, and for his own collection which is flashing on his TV monitor. What a nice all around place. Thank you Mouraria!!

My wife & I both agree that dinner at Botequim da Mouraria was the best we have had during our travels through Portugal. As other reviewers have noted, the place is very small - 10 were seated at the counter, while 2 stood behind and waited while we ate. No reservations, so arrive by 7 or you may be turned away. The owner, Domingos, is charming. He doesn't speak English, but there is an English menu. We started with melted cheese and carpaccio, then had sea bass and black pork. There is an extensive wine list.

Highly recommended. We had steak and it was so tender miam! Try the cheese with margeram delicious! Also the melon figs and meat was delicious. When we came in it was full we waited 20 minutes really worth it.
