The restaurant's rock and stone interior makes for a lovely setting, like a fantastic cave with loads of atmosphere, with attentive service and an outstanding product. One quickly gets their fill of traditional Portugese cuisine (boiled potatoes and salted cod lost their appeal real soon).
Having eaten Italian pizza in Italy, and Turkey and Greece, we had high standards and realized we were taking a big risk ordering pizza in Portugal. What a treat!!!
The piza crust was thin, crispy on the edges, loaded with toppings, light on the sauce, and our vegetarian pizza came with broccoli, artichoke, mushrooms, red pepper, onion, spinach, and a nice white cheese. The cost: 8 Euros. The draft Sagres beer was excellent: cold, flavorful, and cost was 1 Euro each.
Our wait person, Almerinda Almeida" could not have been more helpful and attentive. She had a lovely personality and was so thoroughly pleased we enjoyed our meal as much as we did.
This was a perfect lunch-stop, returning to our hotel after a busy day at the main plaza and all the attractions it held.
