This wonderful hotel offers a relaxed retreat among the many touristic attractions of Evora. It is cosy and stylish, but what I liked especially is the wide range of services they offer and the amiability of the concierge. They give you advice on how to make your sta in Evora truly memorable.

We spent one night here as part of a 10 day trip around Portugal.
A boutique hotel with tasteful dark wood decor. On arrival we were greeted with a choice of refreshing drinks. Our car was helpfully parked by the staff in the hotel’s own underground car park. The room was nice enough, I'm sure if we'd stayed more than one night, we could've got a bigger one.

But what set this apart from the other hotels was the level of service and quality of the breakfast. Whatever diet you’re on or whatever tastes you have, you’ll find something for breakfast here. Different types of fresh juices, different types of meat, cheese, bread, homemade cake, even different types of egg! The American owner was an attentive breakfast host, keeping the kitchen moving, making conversation with guests (in an impressive number of different languages). We were informed that everything was fresh and locally sourced, and we felt that nothing was too much trouble.

The town is small but pretty (the hotel is inside the historic centre) and was pleasant to walk around at night. The reception staff advised us on what to see, recommended some restaurants and gave us a map. Even when we left we were given bottles of mineral water and were advised on where to eat in our next destination (even pointing out that our chosen restaurant had closed down and offering an alternative).

In summary a great hotel with unbeatable service and the most diverse breakfast we’ve ever seen.

I can't say enough about the lovely accommodations, the superb breakfasts and the warm, informative and friendly staff at this little hotel. Everything was great and they really go out of their way to make your stay a treat.

Room Tip: We were upgraded to a room with a terrace which was really unexpected and we enjoyed it immensely.

We stayed in Albergaria do Calvario for one night on our roadtrip though Portugal. The hotel has an underground garage which is very convenient if you travel by car. The staff speaks very good English and was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is probably the best you'll have in Portugal. The owners are keen on honest and organic food, so the buffet breakfast was amazing. Next to the buffet you can also order eggs, pancakes etc included in the price. Our room was clean and big - we had the standard room.

My husband and I stayed here recently for three nights ( November 2013). I wish it had been more! Situated in the walled city, it was perfectly located. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere there was very special too. It was relaxed and inviting. The breakfasts were great as were the light "tapas" that one could get at the bar. It was definately a place to return too!!!

From the moment we arrived until we drove away the hospitality of the employees and the owners was amazingly friendly and helpful. The food was very good whether it was the breakfast, tapas from the bar or dinner. The owners served breakfast and took the time to get to know all of the guests.

Room Tip: We stayed in the only suite on the property adjacent to the courtyard which the owners had lived in...
