The self-guided walk around the University was well worth the effort and was one of the highlights for us in Evora. An important part of Evora's history it is filled with beautiful tile work in the hallways and classrooms. Definitely worth the small entrance fee to enjoy its beauty.

One of the best attarctions in Évora. The building is beautiful, outside and in, and most of the times the college will be functioning normally so you really get a genuine and alive vibe of this ancient institution. It's a MUST see in Évora!!

Being in a group, we only had time for a quick outside glimpse of this old and significant university and the neighboring Jesuit church, Ingreja do Espirito Santo. We hope we will be back there in our next visit!

We were about to pay to visit the university but as we approached the gate we noticed some students who were throwing paper planes at us and shouting something in portuguese while some others next to us made rude comment in English about us being tourists. After that we felt a little intimidated as we had 2 small children with us so we decided against the visit

Amazingly this universitywas open visitors during class sessions. If you manage to forget that modern furniture the azulejos panels and the stone benches all around reveal how the university was organised 4 centuries ago.
