Just spent wkend at these apartments. They were clean and tidy. We had pool view so was nice and quiet at nite. Not very many sunbeds but only lay out one day anyway. A bit too far away from the strip but only 3 euro in taxi. Good value for the wkend as only paid £40.

Lovely I can't fault these apartments, clean comfortable, up to date decor veryyyy cheap, Only 10/15 minutes walk to new town and about the same to old town. Can get a taxi for 4 euro to/from both locations. Also taxi rank at supermarket just a short 1/2 minutes walk from hotel. Main door locked at night ring buzzer to be let in so very safe.

Booked 10 nights in Alagoamar in Oct 2013.We got an absolute bargain so did'nt expect much...what a surprise the hotel is ideally located between the old and new town.Rooms were spotless and maids were in every day.Excellent pool facilities and rooms were well equipped.Staff were lovely and could'nt do enough.Taxi rank just at supermarket and plenty of shops and restaurants close by definately be back.

Me and my boyfriend stayed at the Alagoamar from the 7th October 2013 for 10nights. We got an absolute bargain and only paid £380 for both of us including flights, transfers and a 1bedroomed apartment.. We arrived late at night. On arrival there is a buzzer at the doors where the reception staff will let you in this is if you arrive after midnight due to security... The apartment we were allocated was really roomy with everything you needed in the kitchen to self cater. Granted the rooms could do with sprucing up (which i believe they are upgrading this winter) however how long are you in your rooms for?? A few mismatched cupboards, off coloured grout and badly painted bathrooms should not ruin your holiday.. Everything was clean and the maids came in everyday day to change towels etc..We got a pool view room which apparantly were much quieter than the rooms facing the road with a massive balcony.. the reception staff and Tina in the bar were the most helpful and cheerful staff i've ever met in a hotel, nothing was too much trouble.. The location is ideal 10mins each way to the Strip and the Old town but if the walk is a struggle to these or the beach there is a resort train which runs to all every 20mins..2mins walk from a large supermarket and cafes, restaurants all in the immediate vicinity.. Would not hesitate to stay here again.. will be booking for same time next year without question. thanks again Alagoamar for such a great holiday!

Room Tip: Always request a Pool view room much quieter and high floor to get more sun on the balcony.

Reviews have been quite good for this property....however we stayed here mid Oct and found the apartment in a very run-down state....OK all the basics were there (hot running water/toilet facilities etc) but the kitchen cupboards were ill-fitting and the grouting & paintwork in the en-suite needed v.URGENT attention. The beds were rock hard and I didn't get a good nights sleep for all of the 10 day holiday.....room was in a good position..facing the rear of hotel and overlooking pool area.
Don't be deceived ...that walk to the beach is a good 3/4 mile...the same on return-only uphill!!!
A little advise.....If your flight is after noon and you need your room for changing or shower...it's going to cost you £40-50. There is no changing room or shower available for later departures.
Yip, a disappointment......only 2 STAR at best

Me and my children have just got back from a week at the Alagoamar hotel. We arrived on Saturday 19th October and enjoyed a friendly greeting from reception. I had previously emailed the hotel to see if we could have 2 rooms next to each other as I was travelling with my sister in law and her children but unfortunately they could not accommodate us this time but the gentleman on reception assured us we would be pleased with our rooms. Our room was number 206 and was large and spacious with 2 single beds pushed together and plenty of wardrobe and drawers. The beds weren't the comfiest and the pillows dreadful but we managed. The lounge had a double sofa bed, dining table and kitchen area. The kitchen was well stocked. We had a microwave, coffee machine, fridge etc. Our view was of the swimming pool and this was lovely.

The balcony was large with a large drying rack and table and chairs. The room was cleaned every day. The bathroom was a little dated but it served its purpose and it was a nice touch having individual soaps, shower caps etc. The shower was nice and hot each time we used it.

The swimming pool area was nice but we did notice that a lot of the sunbeds were broken. The bar area was good but as it was the end of season they did run out of some ice creams etc. Unfortunately we only had 2 days of sunshine and the remaining 5 were rain and cloud.

The hotel is ideally located between the old and new town but we preferred the old town. It took about 10 minutes to walk there. There is a good supermarket literally 2 minutes walk to the left of the hotel providing lots of choice at a good price.
For the money we paid I would stay here again. We paid £190 for a family of 3 via Travel Republic but it states at the hotel that the rates are £100 per night.

Just returned from two week stay. Late arrival so we went straight to bed. Following morning we became aware of how dirty and shabby the apartment was. The headboard, light bulb above the bed, bathroom fittings, tiled skirtings throughout were thick with dust, the bedside rugs were in dire need of a thorough cleaning, I removed them from the room and left them on the balcony they were later removed by staff. The receptionist did send cleaners up to the room and they attempted to sort things out. Don't know how these apartments have a 4 star rating. The curtains were stained and the doors of the kitchen units were in need of a good clean, along with the paintwork. The glass on the coffee table was filthy. It made us uncomfortable complaining about the state of the apartment but even more uncomfortable knowing we were expected to put up with dirty accommodation. The cleaner was on her hands and knees attempting to remove the dirt whilst we were in the apartment. We had a room facing the road so the patio windows had to remain closed because of the traffic noise. The kitchen was well equipped, the two electric hot plates would not be adequate to make a meal for a family. It didn't matter to us because we eat out at various restaurants. The pool area is good but the sunbeds are grubby and uncomfortable, the majority of them were broken. A few years ago we previously stayed at these apartments but at that time they were basic but clean. We are regular visitors to Albufeira and these apartments don't even match some 3 star establishments. The staff were quite pleasant and helpful.

Room Tip: One bedroom apartment was spacious. Apartments facing road are really noisy and windows had to be ke...
