Stayed in The Areias village in Aug with my wife & two young kids. Rooms very modern, clean & spacious. Located approx 500 mtrs from the strip and a 30min walk from the 'old town'. Room suited us perfectly as it had a comfortable double bed and two good quality sfa beds for the kids.
The pool is relatively small but as we liked to visit the Algarve waterparks so we did not rely on it solely to keep the kids occupied during the day. There is a modern lobby with a small bar and free wifi and a poolside bar serving drinls, ice cream etc. I would recommend this hotel.

My only gripe is some small niggly unneccessary charges EG 40c to print off boarding passes at reception and 50c extra for milk in an Americano coffee at the pool !!

Room Tip: Pool view rooms sre best

Could not imagine staying elsewhere in Albufeira. Rooms are clean and modern. Staff are friendly and helpful. For us a great location, we like the walk to old town (not for everyone), minutes from the beach, handy mini mercados ( big spar sized shops) close by and a couple of very layer back and friendly bars fairly close at hand, Bora Bora and Chilli Peppers.

Room Tip: Stayed on both sides, pool facing gets sun in the morning.

Its a great hotel, clean, modern, spacious.... Perfect for anyone especially families. Pool is also very nice and kept clean, only thing is it gets shadey after about 3ish but you can still stay there until 5.30ish.
Shops, strip (bars, restaurants, dessert places), beach all walking distance.
You can catch a train to old town (where a big beach and shops restaurants etc are), walk to the train stop is only 5 minutes and it stops at other main areas too where there are shops and restaurants.
One of the other places we went to was Belvista where there is their big local supermaket.
Old town beach i found was more windy and the kids could not go in to the water where as the local beaches to the hotel are better especially theone past chilli peppers restaurant on the right of the hotel as its small and we can keep an eye on the kids.
Oranges in the local shops are actually from spain, though they grow oranges in portugal. Try buying them from the carts which are outside town so on the way from the airport or the aqua parks, these are portugese oranges and they are so juicy and sweet.
If you like hot food their chilli sauces are nice which you can buy from their local shops... The piri piri ones.
The urban and Cais D'Italia were very good italian restaurants in old town and Belle pizzeria has really nice food and deserts which is 5 minutes walk from the bus station near the hotel.

Hotel is opposite kiss club which didnt really disturb us. Zoo bar has a kids play area.

Room Tip: We were in room 209 and 210 which was nice, room 210 is a corner room which is more bigger and spaci...

We stayed here from July 18-28th, Irish couple mid 20's.

We were thrilled when we pulled up outside the hotel as it was easily one of the nicest in Albufeira. The hotel itself is gorgeous. The pool is tiny, and in the shade for 3 quarters of the day so you end up playing musical chairs a bit to catch the rays - but we didn't mind! The pool is sooooo quiet, if you're looking for buzz by the pool, this is not your place. But sometimes after a mad night out, a relaxing day by the pool is just what was in order. The beach was only 3 mins walk away anyway so you were sorted.

The rooms are beautifully decorated and laid out. We had a separate double bedroom - which by the way, is two single beds pushed together (not great) which meant if you happened to move into the middle of the two in your asleep you ended up falling through and onto the floor if you weren't careful! Surely, a 4 star should have a double bed.
Kitchen and living room area were big. TV only had 2/3 English speaking channels, two of which were Sky News. Wifi drops every ten minutes!

The only thing lacking about the kitchen was the severe lack of utensils. There was only about 2 pots! 4/5 glasses. You had to buy the toaster?? 20Euro! and there was no kettle at all!! When you choose to go into apartments rather than hotels - it's safe to say you want to do a bit of eating/drinking/cooking and it was way more difficult to do this than it should have been in any other '4Star'.

Balcony is lovely and big. The place is quiet despite being beside Kiss nightclub. The location is so good, which is 80% why we chose it. The staff are really friendly and helpful, the Brazilian girl in the pool bar outside looks like she'd rather be anywhere else.. but I suppose I don't blame her.

** Make sure you don't touch the strip for food - it is truly awful. Does not compare to the food down in the old town down by the sea front. We were shocked at how expensive it was however - more expensive than Dublin. One starter to share, two mains and a bottle of wine for 80 quid!! Mental money, but when in Rome... You can walk to the old town in about 15 min / 20 mins, and you'll need to walk on the way back because the taxi queues in the Old Town are horrific!!

Back to the hotel: All in all - I feel like Areias Village is decorated as a 4 star, it looks fantastic. But on the inside it is actually missing a lot of the basics. Location does help balance it out but it was expensive so I'll let you be the judge!

Room Tip: Ask for a double bed!

We stayed at this apartment hotel 12 nights in late July. A hotel to note the location, about 5 minutes from the beach and just to strip but placed in an area free from noise. The rooms are large and spacious, the kitchen with absolutely everything you need and very large terrace and wide. Room cleaning was done daily, very friendly staff, clean pool area with a relatively ample of sunbeds but I think it would have had some shadows. W-fi was free and was fine, although we had a room on the 4th floor can be remedied only thing that would be breakfast which in my opinion was a little sarac.Hotelul is perfect for families with children actually being full during this period but this was not a problem at the pool area. If I return to Albufeira would always return here to stay

Superb complex. The apartments are finished to an extremely high standard. The pool area is great, although the loose decking around the edges needs to be fixed. The only reason I do not give the complex 5/5 is because of the complete lack of organised activities for kids. Even a single member of staff tasked with organising activities would make a huge difference. It means that there isn't much of an atmosphere around the pool area. In addition, the bar/restaurant is completely deserted day and night, and was even closed at night a few times.

I would definitely return to the complex, but some sort of entertainment/activities for the kids would make it far better. Apartments of much lower quality than these ones sometimes have fantastic organised activities, so there is no reason why this could not be addressed.

On our arrival the very friendly receptionist explained basics of apartments and supplied a map showing how to get to old town, the strip, local beaches and the nearest stops for the tourist train. The apartment itself was very clean, very trendy - exaclty like the photos on the professional pics on most sites. Some complaints beds too hard but I thought very comfortable and amazingly comfortable pillows. The kitchen was well equipped for our needs as we ate out every day and only used it for making coffee and the occasional roll. Living room and kitchen in one room plenty of room large sofa and chair with TV on wall. We didn't watch a lot of tv and only watched the news channels. The balcony was big by hotel standards with a clothes dryer and table and chairs. We asked for a high up room with pool view and we got what we asked for. The pool area was very clean with plenty of grass area for soaking up the sun and for the kids to play with safely. The bar was alright priced for drinks and food - I ordered a portion of chips and it was enough for a snack for two and was only 3.50 euros.

The location for us was perfect 5 minutes to strip and Oura both fab for eating out, just over 5 minutes to nearest beaches - Avieros was our fav which is accessible by a small path at side of Auramar hotel. When you leave the complex go right and follow road right round til you come to Auramar hotel car gate, there is a small path to the left - if you are looking straight at gate - which is covered by leaves. This take you down to beach which also has a bar restaurant on it, there is also life guards on duty and is brilliant for kid with the caves, rocks etc.

The old town is about 20 minutes walk away which is lovely.

Staff were very polite and helpful. The complex was very secure with a security guard on duty at night. The Kiss club across the road didn't cause us any problems, when there was noise we just turned on the air conditioning on and you could not hear anything.

All in all a fantastic place to stay and would return to these apartments if ever in Albufeira again.

Room Tip: We asked for a high up room facing pool which suited us but if you want quieter location then ask fo...
