We've just returned from here and will definitely go back again. The staff were extremely helpful and the room was great. Very clean and well stocked on toiletries and utensils for self catering. Hairdryer in the bathroom was useful-wish I'd known this before leaving home. The pool was a little cool on first entering but not too cold to get in and it is September after all so no complaints. A few larger groups were there but overall a very pleasant stay.

3rd visit in 2 years to Areias and I'm sad to say that it has went a bit downhill in that time.

Firstly the good, the staff are amazing, the two guys on reception couldn't do enough for you, absolutely superb customer relation skills, the cleaner lady we had was absolutely lovely too. The grounds are spotless too.

Now comes the bad bits, firstly ants. Our apartment was crawling with them which was surprising as it was on an upper floor. The cleaner gave them a blast of spray the next day but a few hardy survivors hung on until we left. Secondly the apartments are getting a bit tired, the sofa was a bit tired looking, and most of the other fittings looked a bit worn too, the beds were awful, literally like a brick and two singles pushed together do not constitute a double, especially as they seperate in the night and you find yourself on the floor. A painful nights sleep every night.

Lastly, and this is the deal breaker for me, is the amount of stag parties that were here this year, apparently they don't allow stag parties so I guess the guy dressed as a chicken was doing it for giggles, either way, the pool was besieged by shaven headed brits-on-the-piss muppets for pretty much the whole stay, not kids either but grown men, it was impossible to sit on the balcony with their shouting and roaring, one lot shipped out and another one arrived, essentially the pool seating was a no go area the whole time.

So Areias, thanks for some great times but the time has come to move on to pastures new, Albufeira has been great but the rising prices and increasingly rowdy behaviour have put us off coming back.

First of all to quash all the rumour's, everyone has different expectations, and standards , fantastic location, as previously said, sunbeds available all day but this is September. no towels on beds early, so you can lie inn, pool a bit cold, pool bar £2.50 euros a bottle of sagra, or £3.00 euros in a frosted glass from freezer, not bad at all, food available at pool bar yes slightly dear burger + chips £8.00 euros, other food similar priced ,cepa velha opposite excellent value for food ,+ drink , hotel spotless apartments ideal spacious , well cleaned everyday, can't fault it overall, beds a bit hard though, the spa up the road has everything so you can stock up your fridge ect, to many restaurants to mention but tried a few all good, brilliant hotel will definitely be back.

my hubby and l stayed here for 4 nights along with my sister and her hubby....we couldnt fault the whole 4 days we stayed s/c and had a apartment each ..we overlooked the pool and my sister had a room opposite with view out the back ..the rooms along with the hotel in general were spotless ..the staff were all very friendly and helpful ..the rooms were cleaned everyday with clean towels etc ..there was always sunbeds available whatever time of the day ..the pool bar did snacks & hot/cold drinks ...the AREIAS hotel is close to a small beach (opprox 10 min walk ) to the right of the property and also 15 min walk to the left is another beach near to the busy "STRIP" where there is plenty of resturant and shops etc ..there is also a spar supermarket 2 min walk away ..a lovely restarant right opposite hotel does lovely snacks and main meals from morning to late evening....the four of us had a fantastic break the weather was fab ....we would def reccomend staying at the AREIAS hotel ..we couldnt fault it and had a really chilled out break ...just what we needed :)
