“Best Portuguese food in Old Town”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 November 2013

Me and my wife moved to Albufeira recently as we are retired.
We tried many different restaurants as we love to dine.

This is definetely not the most cosy place, but surely the best Portuguese restaurant in the Old Town.
Authentic food. Especially the grilled Bacalhau (cod) is a must!
Prepared in olive oil with fresh garlic and onions. Lovely!
Family business with nice service.

“A great place to eat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 November 2013

Went here with my husband on the recommendation of our hotel receptionist and what a great place. It is down an alley - I would probably not have tried it had it not been recommended to me as it is certainly not impressive looking. There were several locals and just a few tourists and the food was terrific and served by a smiling, helpful waitress. It was really good value - huge portions and very tasty. They had a tourist menu (bread and olives, soup, choice of 3 main courses and dessert plus half bottle of wine) for 12.50 euro.
If you are looking for authentic food at a good price served by a smiling waitress in a no-frills restaurant, then this is the place for you!

“Excellent Food, Service at a good price”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 November 2013

My husband and I had dinner at this restaurant tonight on the recommendations of the owner another restaurant who was closed for the evening.
I had Lulas Fritas (fried baby squid in olive oil and garlic) serve with boiled potatoes and salad. It was delicious. This is another one of those little gems that was off the beaten track and only the locals know about.
My husband had bitoque (fried small steak with egg on top) and he said it was delicious.
He had mousse de chocolate for dessert and I had house specialty which was made with egg custard and coffee flavoured biscuit topped with cream. I don't know the name of the dessert but it was really good.
Highly recommend this restaurant.

“Fab Find”

We were recomended this restaurant by a local bar owner. We loved it food is real local dishes very reasonably priced. The place is tiny up a side street but lots of locals eat there which is always a good sign.
