“Excellent Value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 October 2012

We travelled with easy-jet who arranged transfers and rooms at Clube Praia da Oura at a very good price. We had booked just a studio apartment so weren’t expecting anything special. In the event we were very impressed by the whole set-up. We weren’t bothered about having to put one single bed away under the other one each morning but I suppose some people would prefer not to so avoiding studio apartments might be advisable.
We didn’t eat in the restaurant because it was just as easy to walk up to the Strip or any of the roads in the area that had plenty of great restaurants but did use the bars. Good tip here is to check when each bar is holding its Happy Hour and you can move around to take advantage of the 50% reduction in each!
Staff were all very friendly and reception staff particularly helpful – taxis and bus information no problem at all. The singer in the bar one evening was very good also. There is a mini-market which certainly had everything we wanted at reasonable prices so I have no hesitation in recommending the Clube and particularly its location to anyone who wants to enjoy Albufeira. The old town is easily reachable by foot or with a €1.40 bus ticket - Green line for the trip down and Blue line for the trip back!

just back from our third visit to praia da oura and enjoyed it just as much as the 2 previous visits.the location and facilities are excellent and the new reception and bar have added a new dimension.the happy hours are also a bonus where you can get 5 hours of half price drinks in the various bars on site, the best one being the ocean bar between 3-5 where you can sit in the
sun and watch the bowls.Be carefull if you go on one of the voucher deals
from groupon or kgb as you will have to go on one of the resort tours when they try and sell you a timeshare sort of thing that involves points, they say it will take 60 mins but is more like 120 mins.when you purchased the voucher there was no mention of taking this tour until you tried to book the apartment with the resort.one last thing the reception staff were excellent, the bar staff could do with some lessons of them they were all very abrupt and not very chatty,we also found the maids the same aswell.

In the area of Club praia da oura there is a very good ticket agency where Helena will give you honest advice about booking day trips & excursions. The agency is called FINEST GOLF DEALS but sells all the excursions you will be looking for such as dolphin searching boat trips & visits to markets & towns & villages & all the other attractions & holiday activities. This agency will not sell tickets for bull fighting. I was so pleased to see that. Go & see Helena & if you are an animal lover you will have much in common with this helpful, friendly lady.

Stayed for 1wk at cpo ,,,great spot very close to de beach ,,,,only one thing i can say bad about cpo is dat we stayed in a studio apartment and it was one of de worst apartments i ever stayed in,,,,the so called air conditioning was 2 fans one mounted on a wall and de other was plugged in wen needed,,,we tried everything to cool de studio down but it was always like a sauna day and night,,we never got a proper nights sleep and we had to keep de doors open at night to let some air in and and as a result you always had dat fear of someone walking into your studio if u fell asleep,,,,de studio itself was fine but u couldn't move in it especially wen u had de beds down way to small,,,, advise anyone to stay well clear of studio apartments if your staying at cpo ,,,,, but having said this de complex itself is very good well located very close to new town and only a €5 taxi into old town ,,,

Stayed here with my wife and 2 kids (4&6) in August and we had a great holiday. Unsure at start as arrived late on Sat night and it was very loud & busy due to proximity to nightlife but it was quiet every other night.

We stayed in the A block off the main complex and we weren't sure about that and although you'd be much better off on the main complex it was perfectly fine. The apt was fairly basic but clean and had evrything we needed.

There is a big pool on site but gets very busy especially the sun chairs but I really liked the attendant removing towels off empty sun loungers. There's also a really nice childrens pool with plenty of grass around to lie on - great for kids 3 - 10.

In addition to the pools there's a really nice beach just 100m from the reception. You can hire pedalo's, kayaks and tube/banana rides. There are some very reasonable restaurants at the beach and we ate down there most nights.

You can also have 1 day pass per week at the Praia Beach resort which has a wonderful pool area for all ages - the hotel does not advertise this.

There is a kids club with a nice air conditioned room showing DVD's if the kids want a break from the heat however it was very poorly attended and the staff couldn't really be bothered. This did not impact on us as we were not looking to ditch the kids and there was plenty for them to do.

Evening entertainment was good and although the drinks were more expensive than the surrounding area they were cheaper than back home in Ireland.

Well stocked supermarket on site and an even better one 5 mins away near sister hotel.

Great family holiday in decent 3 star resort.

Just back from a week.We had excellent room location-right in front of the pool on the ground level rm 523,my sister and her family had rm 522.Couldnt have asked for a better location as we have a 2yr old. Only negative aspect was there was no gate on the balcony which was railed but we just put a sun lounger across the gap.Our cleaner Adalia was very good and looked after the apt v well.Jacs Restaurant was the best food I've had in ages,an excellent chef but the waiters are THE WORST I've EVER experienced.Rude, slow, you name it!There are seats outside the restaurant that they serve and some they dont serve and if you sit in the ones they dont serve they will just ignore you even if you are sitting there waving your menu about!!!Really bad!. The hotel is clean and well run.We had a great holiday. The beach in front of the hotel is very busy but its nice.I'd recommend this resort although we paid 1800e for an apt for the 3 of us for a week which I thought was v expensive.

Room Tip: Rooms 512-527 right on the ground level in front of the pool

Just back from a week at The CPO with my husband and 2yr old daughter and there is very little I can fault about it. The location is fantastic and hotel staff very accommodating. We went with another family of 3 and when we checked in the rooms we had been given were not next to each other. We asked if this could be rectified and ended up with 2 great rooms with a fantastic seaview and balconies which were perfectly safe for young children. We had booked a self catering holiday but when we arrived we upgraded to half board, the food was excellent at both breakfast and dinner and a wide variety served at both meal times. We didn't need to pay for our daughter who certainly ate her fair share, this made the food excellent value for money. The grounds and pools were superbly maintained and very clean. My only complaints would be that the bathrooms are in need of modernisation and the apartments would benefit from air conditioning. We had a really great time and would return to CPO without hesitation.

Room Tip: We stayed in 420 which had a great sea view.
