If you love fish, you will love this restaurant! It's all about great food! A very simple restaurant with two friendly brothers that will cook for you. Don't go there if you are in a rush, as you start with a delicious crab pate and then 5 different kind of grilled fish. I love fish and I know what good fish is about and believe me, this place is great and so cheap! Don't miss it!

After reading the reviews on here we decided to visit a tasquinha, boy were we glad we did. It was simply amazing. We were a little apprehensive at the start, no paper menu's were presented but i knew we were going to have the 5 course fish dish. wow. if u like fish (im sure the other dishes are just as good, but we never got to sample them) then this is the place for u, there are no airs and graces about this place it is good honest delicious food. For 12.50 p.p 5 courses of fish with as much potatoes and salad as u liked, i, like others, have questioned how they can make profit from this, if id paid double r more id have been just as happy. It is a place with a very relaxed feel to it and staff who are happy and content at their work, it is definitely worth the trek to the near end of the old town. For the starter, main and a desert with 2 glasses of wine and 2 soft drinks we paid 38euro, honestly definitely the restaurant we will be telling all our friends to visit.

Another meal straight from the top drawer. Everything is so simple no fuss no rush but all pleasure
. Standards of service quality of food as good as you will get anywhere. The price is an insult to the place, far to cheap for what you receive, how do they make money ? Fresh crab pate to start followed by five varieties of the freshest fish with potatoes and salad. Beef or chicken for non fishy folk is also quality. Then the pudding course, yum yum . Crepes, almond tart, choccy cake, excellent presentation . Wine at eight euro a bottle. Four feasted and drank heavily for 115 Euro. Simple straightforward success story.

A Tasquinha do Rossio is run by two brothers and a sister! Although the won an award from Tripadvisor this year, this is not a black tie and cocktail dress type of a place!! They are welcoming, warm and friendly! They offer excellent Portuguese cooking and hospitality!!
I had Crab Pate to start with Small Toasted Squares and Portuguese Bread, that was to die for!!! For the main course I had Golden Bream which was succulent, very tasty and served with Olive Oil, Garlic, New Potatoes and Tomato, Onion and Pepper Salad!! This was delicious and the fish was cooked to perfection (for those who are nervous of trying new fish, Golden Bream tastes like Plaice, it melts in your mouth and it does not have lots of fiddly little bones!). It is not served how we usually have it served in the UK, so if you require help as to how to eat it, the staff are more than happy to show you how to do so!! I had Chocolate Crepes for my desert which was beautifully presented and yummy!!
I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the Algarve, but you will need to reserve a table!! It is not at all pretentious and they do take their time to ensure your food is to a very high standard!! Do not expect everything to be rushed, you are in Portugal and there is no second sitting this is a place to eat and drink for the evening!! Enjoy
