Went way on first girly holiday with 3 other girls.. Recommended this apartment by travel agent, because of cost. First impressions, Old fashioned with old fashioned unsafe lock which already had safety box broken into. It was also a guessing game as to which appliances would work. Cooker, lights, microwave and phone did not work and entrance buzzer was faulty. On first night staff did not tell us where linen for sofa beds where and had to sleep between towels. The reception staff found this very amusing next day. Much to our embarassement!! The staff were not helpful and the linen was not changed regularly. They even moped around dirty towels and left the towels which they were supposed to change every day!!!
It was a 4 person apartment but there were only 3 patio chairs and when we asked for a 4th, it did not materialize, nor did anything get fixed or sorted. But to crown it all we had to pay for poolside sunbeds. It did not entice us to stay around the complex.
This was unfortunate as the surrounding area was very nice and it was affordable to eat out in town, and there was plenty to do and the weather was good and the town people were very friendly and helpful.
We would certainly recommend the area but not these apartments for any one, young or old!!

Room Tip: Pick the area but not these apartments.

Just got back after 4 night stay

Negatives

Beds are rock hard - rooms are 1970's brown craked tiles in bathrooms - tired furniture - those hills which can be a pain if you go out a few times each day. having to pay for bed at hotel poolside - Cigerette butts still on balcony for whole of our stay and we don't smoke

Positives
Rooms are large - staff were all nice - it was far from town at all, it's cheap.
If I was booked in here I wouldn't be worried but next time I wouls pay a bit more for a better quality room and location

Stayed in a studio apartment in Jardim 1 with a big balcony and lovely view of the pool.
We found the location excellent 10mins walk from the old town, bit hilly but fine not as bad as people are saying!
The pool was lovely, had we no problems gettin a sunbed and food in the restaurant was perfect.
Our biggest problem with these apartments was de cooking facilities, only one appliance wud work at a time. The cooker was rubbish, the rings barely got hot. So if ur planning too do a bit of cooking in the apartment I don't think these are for u. We were there for two weeks so wud have been nice too eat in an odd nite.
We also found the beds uncomfortable, the mattress was rock hard and the pillows very lumpy.
Overall they were good but the kitchen facilities not up too 3star standard.
Loved the old town, live music and nice crowd go out there. New town a bit young and messy for me. Really enjoyed albufeira though will return but not too these apartments.

only stay here if you are reasonably fit . the steep hill can be an issue in the heat. we tended to walk down to the coast fairly early in the morning.saying that it did give us stunning views from the balcony as we were at the top of the hill.other reviews suggested going to lidl for your food, this is too far unless you use a taxi.theres a good shop just round the corner which should give you everything you need.as you come out of the complex in the direction of the coast go up the road that signposts the victoria pub on the corner, go along the winding road and you will find it just before the ceremony.it has a butchers counter if you are cooking meals.the night life gives you entertainment for young and old.you will find it all close together on the square.plenty of restaurants pubs with rock groups duos and acoustic musicians.all the night clubs in bar street till the early hours.we thought eddies bar as you walk down to the coast was nice and he keeps a good pint of sagras.also the food at the complex was nice.

Room Tip: ask for a sea view

Just arrived back from a week in Albufeira, staying at the Albuferia Jardim. Decent sized (for a studio), reasonably comfortable and well apointed apartments with a full size cooker, microwave and fridge. Beds were more comfortable than expected and we had a nice view from our balcony in block A7 of both the pool and the Fishermens beach and the sea.

The pool and terrace were pleasant enough but the loungers were uncomfortable and matresses cost 1.5 euro a day. If you didn't get a sunbed by 11:00, you would struggle to get one.

Must give a big thumbs up to the Panorama Bar/Restaurant which serves up far superior quality food/drinks and with far more choice than your average pool/3 star facilities. There is also a smaller pool bar in between the 2 pools.

The apartments are high above the old town and the resort is extremely hilly. That said the old town is only 10-15 mins walk away down hill, but would advise a taxi back, especially after a few drinks!

There is a small but well priced supermarket just outside the complex called 'frutaria' which has a red coca cola sign outside. Much cheaper and more choice than the on site shop.

We visited both the old town and the strip at night. Both were lively and fun. The strip plays mostly house and garage music whereas the old town played more accesible dance music, probably more suitable for older clientel. Plenty ofrestaurants around serving good although not exceptional food.

We discovered a fab family run cocktail bar on the way to the old town called 'The Blue Bell' which is just down from St Anns Church. It has a small but pleasant roof terrace which was a nice place for a pre dinner drink. They make fantastic reasonably priced cocktails from fresh ingredients and top shelf spirits.

All in all the apartments are reasonably and well located if you dont mind hills and you get decent value for money accomodation.

Room Tip: for a good view ask for an upper floor apartment in blocks A2 - A7

I have just arrived back last night from staying at the albufeira jadim apartments. I was very disappointed when i first arrived as we were unable to find our room and the reception staff were very unhelpful. A further 30 minutes later we found our room after going back to reception again asking to be shown the room as we couldnt find it. The receptionist spoke very little english so it was hard to understand his instructions. There was no lighting when we arrived to the room and we struggled to find the lock. The room was very dated and smelt fusty. The cookers indicies had rubbed off, we were therefore unable to use it. As you walked onto the complex it smelt strongly of drains. There were also alot of stray cats and dogs. We were visited by a stray dog when getting ready to go out. I also did not feel safe leaving valuables or passports in the room as the door didnt shut properly and there was a notice on the door indicating there may be possiablilties of burlers. This meant that i had to carry all the valuables with me at all times. The beds were also very uncomfortable as were the pillows which felt like they were stuffed with rags.
The rooms were kept clean. The whole of the apartment was cleaned every other day and the bathroom was also cleaned. The pool area was lovely and all the staff were very helpful at the resturant and bar The view from the pool was amazing as you could see the sea very clearly. The only negative was you had to pay for your matress to have on the plastic loungers. It was in a perfect location in my opinion. It is a 10-15 minute walk to the beach and the old town which was uphill on the way back and was a killer in the heat. Overall i think the location was perfect but i dnt think i would like to stay there again.

Room Tip: I had a basic room so if i were to stay again i would upgrade to a delux suite.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Jardim apartment. It was VERY clean and well equiped, and the bedding and towels were changed every day, also new tea clothes left in kitchen. The walk down into the old cobbled town with it's pretty narrow streets and shops and lovely seafront and busy square was a delight. The beach was large and sandy, sea was FREEZING!! Lift and escalators down to beach made it very accessible.

Room Tip: Choose a pool view which will include a view over the beach and old town.
