just got back from auramar hotel we were given room and as soon has we saw the room we told them we asked for pool view to which they gave us no problem most of receptionist very helpfull but one and you will no who we mean as soon as you speak to her not helpful and abrupt. the food at the hotel dont recommend we went b & b and was glad we didn't get half board or full, bacon one morning hot dogs the next we went up the strip most days recommend the irish bar half way up the strip very good english food well worth a visit also fredi's not bad to eat that is half way down the strip.
I would say visit old town very good days and nights out better than the strip in fact we spent more time in old town you can get free bus to old town from hotel if you get taxi it's not much 5 to 6 euro's.
you should visit vilormourie if you get taxi cost 21 euro's ok if you have a few of you going you can get taxi ordered at hotel for 50 cent
the hotel is no good for people with walking difficulties has if your in c block from the pool to reception you have 73 steps to climb and believe me your legs feel it you can get 2 to 3 lift to reception if you don't take the steps.
warning they love the Germans and not the English your Tv channels (English) get turned of all the time and they say they have to wait for engineer to fix but ask any German and they have all channels.
Entertainment every night not bad has you won't get entertained anywhere else but if you are there for 2 weeks it repeats the 2 nd week when you order your drinks you get in plastic half cup's and you have to get in a line has they won't serve you cocktails not nice.
The small pool you see in the broucher you cannot use unless you are German or have code, if you no someone that can go into that area you can be invited in only by that person, We overlooked the pool and we could not use it, the other pools are fine to use but before breakfast make sure you put towels on your sun bed or you wont get a bed for the day. if you go down to beach go to corner of pool area walk to left and walk around the cliff and you will find a nice area to sunbathe it has food and drinks, 6 euro.s each sun bed but worth it. The bedding and curtains are dated the hotel chamber maids very nice clean rooms daily but I got bitten every day. Don't recommend young girls to book the hotel due to 2 stripper club not far from hotel this is on the walk up to the strip if you do go make sure you get taxi at night. The cinester outside hotel ok The views from hotel cannot fault

Room Tip: ask for pool and sea view and make sure you get what you pay for c block is near pool you can use bu...

I stayed in Auramar with my 3.5 years old daughter in October 2010. The hotel has lots of stairs so is not really suitable for people with mobility problems. We had a lovely room overlooking the second (small) pool. There is also a heated indoor pool in this hotel. Staff was very nice, we arrived late in the evening and there was dinner left for both of us in the room (very surprising but nice). Food was great with good variety of meals. Beach was really nice with lovely views. We booked a trip to see dolphins and sealions through hotel reception, it is worth doing it if you want to spend time out of the hotel. Make sure that you take cash with you as there was no cash machine in the hotel and we had to go to the town centre (15 min walk) to withdraw money and pay for our trip. All inclusive was a good option as there is not a big difference between HB and all inclusive. Overall very good time there and I would recommend this hotel definitely.

Just returned from a great holiday with my girlfriend at the Auramar. Alittle worried after reading some of the reviews but only alittle. We're the type of couple who make the most of every holiday no matter where we end up. The Auramar is a great 3 star hotel and if you expect more than you paid for then you'll probably log on to here when you return and moan. I wish I could add comments to other reviews but instead please just ignore most of them, go to this hotel and enjoy it. I will agree however that the hotel really doesn't know what it wants to be, a 2 star stag and hen hotel, a self catering resort, a 4 star all inclusive resort. It tries to accomodate everyone and 96% of the time, once you're used to the hotel it works well. Our room had a living room, bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, two big balconies (yes abit dated but you only stay in your room for sleeping surely) but we were staying all inclusive. The pool is easily big enough for everyone, the food is 3 star and so is the entertainment. Everything is just great if you travel here not expecting a luxurious 4/5 star resort. The staff were very helfpul and I don't need to say how well this hotel is located. I'm keeping this review short but am happy to answer any questions you have. Just go and enjoy the hotel and Albufiera, the Algarve and everything that's on offer. We had an amazing holiday and I'm sure you will too.

We stayed here for 3 nights and i was in a group of 4 it worked out that it cost me £216 for all inclusive, flights and transfers, we arrived to find the hotel very clean and smelling nice, as we were 2 hours early to check in, the receptionist said we could lock our cases in a room and go off and start enjoying our stay, the food was canteen style, for each meal, and they even had chips at breakfast!! there was lots of different types of food, sometimes a bit bland but all in all we never ate anything but the hotels food, and it was substantial enough! the pools are a bit on the cool side, but thats par for the course in portugal, plenty of sunbeds around the main pool, but get there early so you can claim a bed for the day!! rooms were clean and every balcony had a table and 2 chairs which we really enjoyed when having a few drinks late evening, also its very nice to sit and watch the sun rise in the morning!! the staff were all very friendly and helpful, even though some dont speak any english!! lol,
I would definetly reccomend this hotel, I have 2 kids age 9 and 11 yrs and am planning on taking them here next year!
The only down side is that its quite German orientated, they have a seperate pool for Germans ( which we didnt realise as the sign had gone missing, and we spent the first 2 days in that area) ooops!! lol and the entertainment was mainly german, but most of the time it is translated in english too, all in all i would say good value for money, good cleanliness and fab cocktails ( try the Vodka Sun)!!!

Room Tip: if you are not happy with the rooms you are given go back and complain

We stayed here for 3 nights there was 4 of us and for what we paid (£432) all inclusive for 2 adults I couldnt complain! There was different food everyday, though if you are fussy I would not recommend AI but there is different tastes for everyone! Rooms are cleaned everyday as well as towel change. The staff couldnt help us enough anything we needed we asked and they helped! Its about a 10 minute walk to the Strip which has lots of bars and shops! The only downside of this hotel is it caters more for German people, there is a small and quiet pool which is gated off and is for German or yellow band members only and all the entertainment is in german, even down to the kids club there! But all in all we had a fab time and would recommend this hotel, if the entertainment wouldnt bother you, I read reviews after we booked and I was worried but theres no need to be!

We had a wonderful holiday as we were there for my brothers wedding, the hotel was a great location and had all the amenities we required, our room had an amazing view an was quite clean but in need of serious updating. We were all-inclusive and were very disappointed wiv the food which was very basic and everything tasted the same which ment we spent alot of time eatin out an expense we hadn't counted on. Over all the hotel was good but the food bad so u get wot u pay for.I'd stay again but not the all-inclusive option.
