“Not as bad as people make out”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 April 2013

Stayed for 3 nights from 1st april with a party of 8. Our rooms in A block were basically clean and very spacious and the views were wonderful over the sea. Seagulls were a problem especially when people brought food outside and they did swim in the pool. Food was generally okay but there could have been more choice. Staff were really friendly and courteous and couldnt do enough for you. The main reception area did smell of dirty dogs and dampness but we only walked through that area so it didnt bother us much. We did spot the hand sanitisers on second day and used them but it would have been nice to have been told about them first. One of our party did suffer with severe sickness bug on third day and we did report it but nothing much was said however they did ring room to enquire about them.

Room Tip: 'A' block overlooks sea.

Dear Customer

We regret the fact that your holidays have not lived up to your expectations, and you do not have enjoyed conveniently our hotel unit.

As you know, in the period in which you were staying at our hotel, the occupancy level was 480 clients, of which only 2 or 3, on average, were affected by the same symptoms. Therefore, less than 1% of customers in the Hotel.

Still, as a form of screening, all our food and drink is examined daily under the HACCP program by a certified external company, and all the results of these analyzes did not reveal any pathogens.

From the moment we became aware of the first case, all the measures recommended in the manual of the Tour Operators Federation ( FTO) were implemented.

Once again, sorry for all the inconvenience, your review has been greatly appreciated , and er hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in our hotel and provide you with a pleasant stay.

I am going to start by saying DO NOT go there or if you can, CANCEL!!

We ARRIVED ON MARCH 28TH FOR 3 NIGHTS. We were lead to our room which i paid extra for sea view top floor. But what we got was sort of a sea view, but had a fence in the way and a load of trees and on the ground floor. But could not change rooms. When checking the room out found bathroom to have hairs on the floor from other guests! Black marks on supposedly clean towels, mould around the bath and mirror, fag burns in the sheets, massive draft coming from the doors on the really dirty balcony. Thats just to list a few!! Anyway there is only one bar open at a time right at the bottom down a load of steps near the pool where it is swarming with seagulls, also swimming in it, but this does not help when the staff are feeding them! Drinks were good but thats about the only good thing as all the food from the snack bar where completely stale and cold!! I have also contracted the norovirus that has been going round and if you have ever had it its not nice!! All the other poor reviews are basically what i would say so just BE CAREFUL and BE WARNED!!

stayed here from the 29th march until the 1st april-6 of us. very sceptical after reading the bad reviews however i found it wasnt anything like some reviews stated.

rooms- we had 3 rooms all situated together in d block. rooms were very clean and spacious, cleaners came in everyday and changed and made beds, changed towels & cleaned bathroom, also even folded clothes that were left out which was nice. our view was beautiful staring straight out onto the beach- never had a view like this even after paying hundreds for a holiday!

food- food was good, had quite a vast range from turkey, paella, pasta and fish. food was hot majority of the time and even saw staff probing food to make sure it was at right temperature.

location- perfect location, situated on a beach which was lovely and also had many shops, restaraunts, cafes, bars, supermarkets all within 15minute walk!

hotel- the hotel was rather big and there were steps leading to places like the pool bar however next to the steps was a ramp, although what do you expect when its situated on a clifftop, however there wasnt as many steps as some people have made out. there was a musty kind of smell in the lobby which may have been due to rain or as the indoor pool was near it may have been that. the soft drinks for all inclusive wernt brilliant, cola and orange ect was a cheap own brand and not the proper drinks, staff were also friendly and very helpful:).

as for the sickness bug, non of the 6 of us got it and never heard much about it. there were hand gel pumps at all entrances and we constantly saw cleaners cleaning door handles, banisters ect.

overall it was a brilliant short break with perfect location and good amendities.we were very happy with eveything including the price. we never found a problem with anything :)

We stayed here 19th - 26th March all Inclusive. Our room was spotless as was the whole hotel. Room cleaned every day and given fresh towels. The food was really nice every day and a very good selection at breakfast , lunch & dinners
The staff were all very friendly and all spoke English.
The pool was used more be the seagulls that guests but considering the weatger we had this was not a problem but I could see it would be in the summer but if the pool was full of swimmers would the seagulls still be there ???
I read many reviews before going and sometimes wonder what people expect. Our holiday was really good value for money and the hotel was much better than a lot of 3 star hotels we have stayed in and as good as many 4 star.
Must admit lots of stairs and different levels so perhaps not ideal for people with mobility problems.

Room Tip: The rooms are all laid out very well and I think most will have a sea view.

Just back today (1st April 2013) from a week at the Auramar Beach Resort.
If you want to lose weight then this is the hotel for you. I've lost half a stone in 1 week.
Worst hotel I've ever stayed at. We were a party of 6 of which 3 ended up with sickness (me on the 2nd night, one other the following day and my wife on the 2nd last day). This place should be closed down until it meets basic health standards. The hotel stinks. I couldn't go near reception as the stench there was so overpowering. The room I had wasn't much better, the bedding was stale and musty smelling. After the cleaners daily visit the room smelled worse. I don't think they've heard of bleach and use stagnant water with dirty cloths. When you clean a bathroom it should smell fresh not stale afterwards.
The covered walkways between blocks leak like a sieve when it rains so they put towels down to collect the water (rather than repair the leaks). A health hazard as there are wet tiles everywhere. The food was bland and virtually the same fayre ever night (I stopped eating there the 2nd evening and when I was able to eat again 3 days later, ate out despite being half board, at a place called Chillie Peppers, just outside the hotel, which was excellent), everyone else in my party soon did the same when they started dropping like flies due to sickness.
As well as the filth and the health concerns the whole place looks tired and run down as if it hasn't seen a revamp since the 70's.
If you have mobility issues forget it, stairs everywhere. Yes there are lifts but having to go up 2 flights of stairs to get to them seems poorly thought out.
Sir Edmund Hilary and Tenzing Norgay would struggle to get down the path from the hotel to the beach.
Only good thing I can say about the dump is that some of the staff were very friendly.
I'm now off upstairs to see if my wife can manage to keep down a cup of tea as she hasn't eaten in 48 hours due to the sickness contracted at this so called hotel. Thanks Auramar, we won't be back.

arrived on 25th 12 noon nearly didn't stay, the lobby smelt of stale vomit which lingered for our whole stay. room not ready, given a piece of paper with room number on it told to call back. didn't put our AI bands on. had to ask where the bar was, down about 6 flights of steps. food cold
drinks economy cola etc. another couple told us there was a sickness bug in the hotel and we hadn't even been there an hour. went back for room key, charged 10 euro deposit for the key. had to ask for AI bands. room allocated was horrid, dismal and grubby. bed not changed for the whole time we were there, luckily we had a little cooker and a pan. given that we were told there was a bug we boiled the water for teeth cleaning. the main restaurant is down 3 lots of steps then a corridor then more steps. the lounge where the bar is was down yet more stairs, not good if you like us and don't want to sit and listen to the "entertainment". the food first night was tepid. second night was hot as the food inspector was on the premises. took the curtesy bus into albuferia which is lovely little town, walked back along the beach, sat round the pool only to find no one in the pool but seagulls. these became a nuisance if you were carrying a plate of food to a table as you were dive bombed by these seaguls. on the wednesday evening we were phoned by easyjet to inform us that the noro virus was in the hotel and were we ok. told them yes so far and should we be taking any precautions. were told to ask at the hotel reception. spent far more time out of the hotel than in due to the horrid smell. wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. the only good thing about this hotel was the free wifi in the lobby, thats if you can put up with the smell.

Room Tip: close this hotel and give it a makeover urgently.
