We have just returned from Da Balaia where we stayed for a week. We loved the holiday and had a great time. We stayed with out 2 & 3 year olds. We did not use the childrens club although others gave good reports. We could not fault this hotel - we found it to be stylish and chic , the food fantastic , a very civilized all inclusive service. Meal times were easy with children with an amazing selection of food and drinks. clean , pleasant dining areas with lots of high chairs.
The pool was a little chilly but our children were still in it lots and enjoyed it . The beach is directly in front of the hotel and is gorgeous - club med has its own area with loungers and shade. No need to pack beach towels as all provided as is cot bedding, hairdryers and there was even a bottle warmer and baby bath in our room. Great entertainment in the evening - our little ones loved the childrens dancing in the bar - very sweet. Great afternoon tea , crepes and ice creams in the afternoon! All in all a great place. We will be back!

Having just returned from the resort, I had to write to say how fantastic it is. The place is just perfect, the staff - amazing and the holiday was perfect.

We travelled with my 17 month old daughter who had the best time! Although she did not attend the kids club - she loved the friendly staff, the amazing food and the freedom she had there.

One thing I would say, if you like your food - take some bigger clothes with you! The food is amazing - I dread to think how much weight I have gained (healthy options were available.... - but I couldn't resist the fantastic food)!

Every single member of staff is friendly, helpful, polite and does that little bit extra to help you and make you feel welcome. I can't recommend this place highly enough and will certainly be looking to go back next year!

I read lots of reviews on Trip Advisor about this hotel before our family went there on holiday and, having seen a couple of negative reviews about the baby club, I was a little concerned at how my six month old daughter would get on there. However, I shouldn't have worried. The baby club was fantastic! We placed our daughter in the baby club from about 9-10am, collecting her at 2:30pm and she loved it! The staff were very friendly and caring - Ana, Chloe and Severine in particular. We also made use of the pyjama club on a couple of evenings.

Being confident that our little girl was in good hands, my husband and I could make use of the various activities on offer, of which there were lots. We had golf lessons and my husband played tennis. Although the lessons were in French, there were enough GOs who could speak English for us to understand.

The food was lovely - an amazing buffet with plenty of choices of quality food was laid on every day. The rooms were spacious (we were in the golf hotel) and we found that having adjoining rooms worked well - one room for us and one for the baby. The GOs were fantastic - full of energy and always willing to help.

Overall, a fantastic holiday and one that I highly recommend. I'm sure we'll be back here some time in the future!

Cannot fault my stay - naturally as a solo travelling female I was apprehensive but my concerns were completely unfounded - I was alone for about 2 hours the whole week! The staff are amazing and go out of there way to make you feel right at home. Pool is one of the best I've hung out in and is as good as the Five stars ones in luxury resorts in Dubai and Monte Carlo! There's plenty of sports to try and the Cinq Mondes Spa is fantastic to say the least. Night life centres around the shows and the nightclub so you are not entertained! As with all Club Meds the food is out of this workd, espeically the pizza and the cheese counters!

We just came back yesterday from Da Balaïa yesterday where we spent a wonderful holiday with our 3 kids (8, 5 and 3,5 yrs), who had a great time too.

There was a fair amount to do, activity wise, but you could also relax by the pool or at the beach. The shows were very very entertaining, we had a lot of fun ! The connecting rooms we stayed in were good, although rather basic.

Special compliments have to go to the mini club, where the staff engaged the kids with their humour and enthusiasm. All the G.O's of the mini club were fantastic, but especially Inge our children are still speaking about :-). They certainly will miss her !

And what we enjoyed the very most on this holiday, were the daily Tai Chi Qong lessons given by Denis. He is an excellent and passionate teacher. We found the lessons of very high quality and the setting on the beautifull grass field near the sea was magic. For us it should be a reason to come back to Da Balaïa !

We stayed for a week with a 14 month toddler. We were provided with two adjoining rooms, one for the little one and one for us. In her room, was a travel cot, changing mat as well as baby bath and bathmat that could be used in her en suite room.

We found the room to be clean, and functional but could do with a refurb as it looked a bit dated. This doesn't detract from the fact that everything in the room worked and that the need for a lick of paint and some new furniture did not affect our use of the room or our sleep.

Amenities in this large hotel were good (although the pool was cold). There was always a place to sit down, have a drink as well as places to play freely. There were always sun loungers to sit on and the beach is extensive with plenty of room. There were choices between sitting in the sunshine as well as being able to keep out of the sun under trees on sun loungers - especially useful for children's skin.

Food is served by buffet and was adequate. Lots of choice but not amazing. A table could always be found and there were plenty of high chairs to be found too. There was seperate children's food that was available an hour before the main buffet opened providing a bit of flexibility.

The kids club was a blessed relief as well as excellent. The staff were helpful and friendly and the club itself had plenty for the children to do. The club garden is under shade and is well equipped. Our daughter stayed there for five afternoons. We were unsure being prepared to have her with us for the whole day if she seemed unsettled. We needn't have worried as she came back every day smiling and tired. Leading to us having a good nights sleep - hooray!

We didn't sample many of the activities but as the hotel is run as a club there seemed to be plenty of things to do throughout the day and night.

All round a perfect holiday for us and our little one's first holiday as there was no stress and the hotel is geared towards families.

We stayed in mid October for the school half term with one 13 year old boy.

The hotel has a lovely location. Plenty of green space surrounding the hotel buildings which were pleasantly laid out. Because the hotel's grounds sort of surround a sandy cresent beach below it feels like you have a private beach. I'm sure it's not a private beach but that's the feeling you get. The beach is pretty, sandy and reasonably shallow so pretty child friendly. In mid October the sea was more for the brave - about 18c. Would guess that this beach is perfect between May and September.

Everyone has commented but I'll add to the others. The standard of the food here is superb. I've stayed at very high end hotels around the world and would say that this is as good as you'll get before you hit the super high end. They have a posh table service restaurant for those that want that experience but it is testimony to the quality of the main buffet style restaurant that we never strayed! Great for famillies as you could all enjoy meals together whether it was a freshly grilled burger and chips or the intricate French ispired fish dishes.

The staff were all great from. It has a very French feel, but the staff were from all over the place. A very cosmopolitan bunch. What came across pretty clearly was that they all enjoyed what they did and its difficult to fake that. We don't speak French but had no problem at all.

All of the usual sports and activities were there. I'm a tennis player and this was perticularly good. (The facilites - not my tennis!) Plenty of courts, free group sessions which were fun and a little fun mix in tournament every afternoon. I'm not a golfer but would guess this place would be heaven for keen golfers or anyone wanting to learn. A nice touch was the little 6 hole pitch and put course on the hotel grounds. It was designed to have the look and feel of a classic links course overlooking the ocean. Just smaller. With the keen golfers presumably off enjoying the many pro courses that surround the area we spent happy afternoons here.

There is not a children's club here for those above 4 years old. Our thrirteen year old was happy enough to just join in the adults sessions and enjoyed them all. Maybe a 10 year old would find it tough?

Overall I'd guess perfect for couples of any age and famillies. There was a night club, dancing and show every evening but I got the impression it might not be the best Cub Med for singles.

Final tip. We stayed in the Golf hotel. We were a little concerned when we booked as Club Med's own literature describes this as being "some distance" from the centre of the resort. Don't worry it's not. All the hotels are joined. It is nothing more than effectively being at the far end of a corridor. To be honest it was nice to be in the quiet at night. Balcony overlooking the golf.

This was our first experience of Club Med and money permitting won't be the last. Its a glowing review and maybe we were just lucky but they deserve it. Loved it.
