We stayed at the rocamar 22nd March for 7 nights b&b. We were situated on the 4th floor with a sea view which is really worth paying the extra for. The room was of a good size with 2 single beds pushed together even though we payed for a double. There is a big plasma tv with quite a few english channels to choose from. The bathroom was very nice and a good quality shower over the bath, also enjoyed listening to the radio whilst in the shower. The hoel is a boutique style with a spa although we never visited it.
The breakfast are really nice with full cooked breakfast or continental choices togo for, also there is wine and champagne if your feeling up to it at
breakfast time! The bar area is very modern with black and red leather chairs and sofas to chill out on. We never ate there for an evening meal but you do get a discount if you are a resident. The location is great, turn left out of the front of the hotel to go to the old town (3 mins) or turn right and go to the marina (15 mins leisurely stroll) for people watching sessions with a
lovely glass of wine. The hotel pool is located on the 3rd floor, beware some rooms on the 3rd floor only have windows which look directly onto the sunbeds where strangers can look straight into your room therefore the curtains have to be closed for most of the day! The pool is heated and is an infinity style so you really do feel like you are almost in the sea.
I would definately recommend this hotel but not so much for children more of an adults holiday.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms on 3rd floor due to sunbathers outside your window and no balcony. Beach towels can be borrowd for a 30.00 euro deposit for the week. Hair dyer in bathrom

My wife and I returned from a 4 night stay at the Rocamar on the 5th of April, well it would have been the 4th only we were delayed for 14 hours with Monarch Airways. When we arrived our room was not quite ready so we went for a walk around the town. We got back within the hour, went to our room and within 10mins there was a knock at the door and in walked a waiter with a big smile and a bottle of Champagne in an ice bucket.
Ok it rained for a couple of days but being so close to the town we could just nip out between showers. Our room was on the fifth floor (516) wonderful view, we slept well and we enjoyed every meal we had. A bottle of wine in the bar was only 9 euros and served by pleasant staff in fact all the staff from Annabelle on reception, waiters, cleaners made our holiday complete.

Stayed here for a week in the first week of April. The hotel's position is amazing - the views are to die for - probably the best views of Albufeira. Staff are extremely friendly and professional (maybe other reviewers voicing a different opinion had an effect...). The breakfast choices are wide ranging - cereals, cooked breakfasts, cheeses, meats, salads, breads etc.
The rooms are cleaned daily (Rituals bathing products [provided). There is free wifi available in rooms on request to reception. The spa treatments are not cheap - but worth having as a treat.
Just sitting on the veranda outside the dining room/bar, looking at the blue sea and golden sand of the beach = complete relaxation. Would I return again? You bet!

Room Tip: The land view balcony rooms may be better later in the year... not really warm enough to use in Spring.

Comments on here about the staff seem harsh all were very helpful and chatty
Located a short walk to bars and restaurants

We had a room that looked out onto the pool where the sinners were right against the window so privacy was to keep the curtains closed didn't bother us as we were out all day but could be an problem for some people rooms are 308 - 314

We arrived early afternoon for a two week stay and were checked in by a pleasant man on reception who explained all about the hotel. Our room was 402 which had absolutely fantastic views. The rooms aren't massive but more than large enough and were cleaned every day by our hard working cleaner. The whole hotel is immaculate and decoration was very trendy. I was a little worried about comments I had read about staff attitudes but everyone we came across were very friendly and helpful.
The range of food for breakfast was good and it was very pleasant after breakfast taking our drink outside to a table on the edge of the esplanade to watch the world pass by. Evening meals were OK and we ate there twice when we didn't want to wander into the old town.
We originally planned to book the Solemar Hotel and are very glad we picked the Rocamar. Extensive work was being carried out to the beach side of the Solemar causing noise and dust.
The Rocamar is ideally situated especially for wandering round the old town.
We ate in a number of restaurants in the old town, the best was O Veleiro which gave outstanding value for great food and was always nearly full. Also worth a visit but more expensive is the Atrium this used to be a concert theatre, the original room decoration is amazing, the food good and the waiters entertaining.
We would definitely stay in the Rocamar again.
