My Husband and myself have just returned from a ten day holiday here. The hotel was extremely disappointing, we went bed n breakfast thank goodness we didn't go full board. We asked for a room change as first one was awful, tiny balcony which had two large extractor fans which took up most of the wall hardly any room for table and chairs. Room was dark and dank. Glad to say the next room was much better. Breakfast was usual choice of eggs, bacon, etc cold meat, pate, cheese etc. service was terrible they constantly ran out of cold milk for cereal, cups, cutlery tables were never cleared in time for people waiting to have breakfast. Unfortunately the waiters were unfriendly and quite unhelpful. I have to say the chambermaids were lovely and were friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble. The bar area was always empty as there was no atmosphere one exception was there were around 10 people there watching World Cup. I would not stay there again for future visits.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the sea are quieter. The rooms facing the street are quite noisy.

Ok so this was my first time away for a foreign holiday so I had high hopes and reading previous comments was quite excited. We we visited here it was a 3 star but has since been upgraded to 4 which his well and truly deserved. We have sea view with a lovely spacious room and bathroom. Room service everyday. Amazing pool overlooking the sea which was my personal favourite. The breakfast was buffer style and was good. Get the hot chocolate. The hotel was spotless and well looked after. Staff were very helpful and local whom carried a smile everyday. They worked very hard. In short well deserved upgrade and will definitely return as an anniversary I my first holiday with my girlfriend. I will never forget you Rocamar!!!

Just returned from a superb 2 weeks at Rocamar Beach.Everything as you would wish, comfortable room, friendly, helpful staff, good food at fair prices.Generous breakfast buffet with great selection of different foods. Pool a little on the small/shallow side, but good for cooling off.Pool area very limited,so don't even bother fighting for a sunbed, enjoy the terrific beach and come back for an hour at the pool 4.30/5pm,when it's still hot and people are getting tired of laying around !! Excellent location, worth a little extra for seaview room, where views are stunning. Floors 2/4/5, all ok ,avoid 3rd floor rooms, unless you like guests on sunloungers right outside your window/patio door, not good if you are not expecting it.Everyone recommends fllors 4/5 and I can see why, but we had 2nd floor seaview and it was just fine ! Plenty of reasonable bars and restaurants, spoilt for choice- try O Penado, just up from hotel, away from town side, family run, friendly, food great on superb patio. Highly recommended.Only shortcomings, small pool area, hectic chaotic buffet breakfast (unless you are an 8am starter)by 9.15 it's heaving and not cheap - but certainly value for money.

Room Tip: Seaview is worth the extra, floors 2/4/5 all ok. Avoid 3rd floor- rooms back onto pool, with guests o...

Location was great, Albufeira is beautiful and the Old Town is one of our favourite places. Rocamar is spotless and lovely inside. Breakfast was lovely every morning. Biggest down point was the room. Down in the basement basically with no balcony or terrace. Even worse is that when you open your curtains there are people lying on sunbeds right against your window. Awful. 4 stars for the rest of the hotel and about 2 for that room. Not even going to properly mention the rude old guy that works there, shouting at moaning at customers, never seen an employee talk to customers that way anywhere, bad craic. I found laughing in his face whilst he shouted at you annoyed him more, which was good to see. He is the only case like this, everyone else was fantastic and couldn't be more pleasant.
Apart from these two factors the Rocamar is a lovely hotel with stunning views, spotlessly clean, with a lovely restaurant.

Just returned from this fantastic hotel after a long week end ( landmark birthday surprise for my wife). I organised the break through a " build your own" company and informed the Rocamar of the occasion . On arrival they had upgraded us to a Premier room which was absolutely fabulous. Great inclusive amenities and a view to kill for! Literally two minutes from the old town or superb beaches . The quality of the Hotel cannot be overstated. Good checking-in and out, the staff were polite and attentive when required, the breakfast was plentiful and varied with plenty of choice. Although adjacent to all the amenities the Hotel remained an oasis of calm and serenity , offering excellent sleep quality throughout . A HUGE thank you to ALL the staff and management for giving us both such an outstanding short break. We only wish we could have stayed longer.

Room Tip: Try the premier rooms, you won't be disappointed.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Location is simply fantastic. Overlooking the beach and only 5 mins down the street takes you to the main shopping area of the old town with lots of bars and restaurants.
Room itself was spacious and clean. However was a little odd to discover when open the curtains to find sunloungers right outside with other guests sunbathing. It didnt particularly bother me as I was out during the day and just kept the curtains closed. If I was returning though I would upgrade.
Breakfast was good, lacked pastries but everything else plentiful.
