“Fantastic Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 October 2012

After reading some reviews about this hotel being "in the middle of nowhere" we were pleasantly surprised. Although it doesnt have sea views the views were lovely from all rooms. Absolutely beautiful, large comfortable rooms, beds very comfortable (unusual in hotel we have usually found). spotlessly clean, cleaning staff excellent and very friendly. if you so wish the hotel will service your room at a time that is convenient for you! The hotel manager Andre was very helpful and always visible. from the manager to the housekeepers nothing was too much trouble, whatever you wanted/needed was available. We even had a tour of the kitchens with cooking demonstration by Chef Angelo. Fantastic. The food was really good with plenty of choice, so although buffet style there was always something to please everyone, also several options cooked fresh in front of you. Breakfast was fantastic. All areas of the hotel were very well presented and extremely clean. Pool areas (indoors and out) were very clean and beautiful. The gardens were lovely with linked pools where you can walk or rest on a sunbed. OK entertainment more aimed at the over 60s, but still good fun. In house holiday reps absolutely fantastic from Lauren to Victor. Would go again soon.

This is not a holiday for anyone under 50, the average age of a guest is 60 plus, so it depends what you want out of a holiday, we wanted peace and quiet and that's what we got, you can hear a pin drop after 10.30 in the evening. The hotel is clean and well kept, the gardens are beautiful and a good alternative for sunbathing, there are always sun beds available so no need for an early morning rush. The food is really good and well presented, there is bags of choice to tempt everyone's palet, the only negative, as with all buffet style meals, is that it gets a bit repetitive especially after a two week stay and it was not as hot as a served meal. The location suited our needs but it is off the beaten track a little however the hotel provided cheap and regular transport to the main resort areas. The beach is a 20 minute walk but is well worth a visit. Pricing is cheaper than England even in the hotel and several local restaurants provide an even cheaper experience which gets you out of the hotel for a while. A real sleepy hollow.

Room Tip: Get a pool view if poss as you get the sun on your balcony

Many positive things to say:
- nice hotel, good maintenance state, very nice garden and lawn
- as there are no kids allowed: it is very quite and the pool was mostely empty (ok, it was October)
- most of the staff frindly to very friendly
- good service, especially at the reception
- clean and large room (freshly decorated recently) with couch, flat TV and balkony, bed was ok except syntethic pillows. We heard a british couple though that complained about lack of decoration.
- breakfast and dinner of high quality and good taste, much to chose, always sufficient food even at the end of breakfast/dinner time; beer and wine are good as well.
- sufficient parking area in front of hotel
- 20 min walk to the very nice beach (or take the hotel shuttle bus)
- 90% of the guests are british, average age of guests is about 65. No Russians!

A few and neglectable minus points:
- extra charge for the safe of 2,50 €/day
- occasional silverfishes in the bathroom at night only
- broken beds on the lawn, that were neither repaired nor removed

All in all we had a very nice vacation, we loved the Algarve landscape, the beach, the friendly Portugal people and last not least the very good hotel. We paln to retorn there in Autumn 2013.
Joachim from Germany

Room Tip: We wood avoid rooms towards the pool.

Eat, sleep, eat sleep, eat sleep......
My partner and I wanted to a relaxing week away, and so far that's what it has been (wednesday, so 3 more days to go).
Staff are delightful.
Rooms are spotless.
Food is delicious.
Indoor swimming pool a little bracing, but just as i like it. The indoor spa are is very relaxing and the spa - Relaxing day - deal worth ever penny.
Entertainment not really to our taste. We are in our 30/40s. But if you enjoy 'social/labour club' entertainment act you'll enjoy this.

One warning (related too, but not about the Hotel)......'do not book with Travel 'rip off' Republic. Pay more and go with a company that clearly states what your charges will be...
cheers lynn & gary

Hotel was all that it said, a perfect relaxing holiday. Staff were very friendly and helpful and available at all times. Room was specious with huge balcony(411) and spotlessly clean . Food was excellent with plenty of choice and piping hot and chef there to greet guests each evening, as was hotel Manager. This was our first trip to Falesia and we are already planning our next visit.Only downside were the very selfish guests who were down before breakfast to put towels on sunbeds round pool, not necessary as there are plenty of sunbeds both round the pool and in the gardens. Thank you to all the staff.

Room Tip: High room overlooking gardens, perfect

A modern hotel (just 4 floors) set in beautiful gardens and away from any main road or major shopping area so very tranquil surroundings. Not available for young children so if you are looking from a real "get away from it all", then this is the place for you. The facilites, food and staff are all excellent.
Just a short walk (although a bit steep in parts) to the beach, the hotel also runs a regular service there which is free of charge.Others at a minimal cost are available to Albuferia and Villamora, which are both just a few miles away. There local shops and bars within a few hundred yards walk, but none intrude on the relaxed atmosphere of the hotel itself. The facilites include both outdoor and indoor pools, and a spa and jackuzi. All bedrooms have balconies and have excellent views, whether pool facing or not. We have been twice this year (May and October), the weather was wonderful on both occasions, and certainly will return again.

We found this hotel by chance and we were not disappointed. It had all a middle aged couple wants - good food, comfortable accommodation, evening entertainment and nice surroundings. We also enjoyed not having lots of children around, although we don't dislike them they can sometimes be rather noisy when we specially wanted a quiet, restful holiday.
The staff were all very friendly and the service very good. Our room was kept beautifully clean and we were delighted with the great towel animals that our clever maid conjured up for us several times during our two week stay.
We were a bit disappointed with the indoor pool. My wife is only just over 5 foot tall and not a very confident swimmer and found it that little bit too deep even at the shallower end. The water was nice and warm compared to the outside pool so it was a real shame as this was one of the reasons that we chose this hotel. Also we felt that it would have been nice to have a boules pitch and maybe a put-put course that you could have a game on your own if you wished.
All in all we enjoyed our stay, the weather was perfect - 14 sunny days with temperatures around 27 degrees. We had a junior suite on the third floor overlooking gardens and getting the sun on our balcony until after 4pm which was worth paying a wee bit extra for.

Room Tip: Rooms on the south western side are quieter and corner suites are large and sunny. We had Room 342 a...
