“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed 7 November 2012

What a lovely hotel in quiet surroundings. It is family owned and that was evident from the care to the building and friendliness of the staff. The reception area and indoor pool were particularly attractive as was the restaurant. We tended to eat in the domed circular area in the evening as it it had low level lighting well spaced tables and made you feel as though you had gone out to a good reastaurant. For breakfast we ate in the section with lots of windows at the far end although this was more light eating in rows of a canteen (still nice though). Food was good although I enjoyed breakfast more than evening meal. Salad choice was a bit limited for me and veggies were often cold/bit soggy and were frozen not fresh. Desserts not really worth the calories if you know what I mean! Oranges to squeeze yourself and fantastic porridge a great hit at breakfast.
Room was good but towels small and toiletries basic. Could get your pool towel from reception and use that in room as you can change as often as you like. Charge for safe in rooms apart from suites which I think is a shame.
A bit chilly in evening in our room and requested a heater but none available.
We don't like hotel entertainment and were glad that poolside events were at a minimum.
We used Sheraton Hotel lift to and from beach (was allowed) which was handy.
Relaxing break ... we walked to Vilamoura along beach and to Albuferia along road both enjoyable despite rain. Caught bus from both to return to hotel ... check out bus stops as quite tricky to find in Albufeira ... we got a map from tourist info.
On the whole a great place . Thanks and well done to the staff for making us feel so at home.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking pool would be sunnier BUT noisy in summer. We were lucky to have a suite which was...

This was our first visit to Portugal and we found the hotell fantastic. Beautiful grounds, unbelievably good food and staff who could not do enough for us. The complimentary bus makes it easy to get to the beach, especially if mobility is limited. The entertainment exceeded our expectations and enhanced the holiday. It is certainly the ideal place to relax and unwind.

Our second visit to the Falesia hotel (in late October) only went to prove that this is the place to go for a truly relaxing holiday. We were welcomed like family and nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff. Despite some "inclement" weather we left feeling totally spoilt and relaxed. The food was superb,so much choice and beautifully presented and the standard of cleanliness of the whole hotel could not be bettered. With entertainment for those who want it and total peace in the beautiful well kept gardens what more could you want ? Needless to say we would return again with no hesitation.

Room Tip: It is worth the little extra to upgrade to a Superior Room which gives you a comfortable seating are...

We have just returned from a relaxing week at the Falesia Hotel. Although the weather could have been better, the staff at the Falesia made us more than welcome. The facilities at the hotel are great - especially the indoor pool. We booked half board and both breakfast and dinner were of very high standards with many choices. The hotel is a little out of the way but this does mean it is very quiet and relaxing. Our only concern was the price of the drinks from the bar. Otherwise we could not fault the hotel and will certainly return in the future. Well done to the Thomson team who kept us entertained during the day and night.

Room Tip: Junior suites are larger rooms with a sitting area, free safety deposit box and tea/coffee facilitie...

This was our first time in Portugal and I must say it was excellent! We travelled with Thomson to The Hotel Falesia in September this year for a weeks holiday. The hotel was beautiful and so were the sun terrace and gardens. The staff could not do enough for you and the food was very good with plenty of choice every day.
The room was smaller than we have had in the past but very comfortable and well decorated. The only gripe I had was that we had booked months in advance at full price and we were put at the front of the hotel over the Reception, over looking the car park and we never got a glimpse of sunshine on our balcony all day! Others had booked last min and got rooms over looking the pool or gardens with plenty of sun on their balconies.
The Rep was always around the hotel which was a great help. We did a lot of walking during the day has the beach was a good distance away about 30mins,but it was worth the effort.
Not a lot to do out of the hotel but some small bars which we walked too every night just for a change. There was some good entertainment at night in the hotel, shows, comedians and dancing.
The whole holiday was very relaxing and enjoyable, hope to return next year!!

Room Tip: Reqest a room away from the front!

This was our 5th visit to the Falesia which is an indication of our satisfaction with every visit. The staff are wonderful, helpful, obliging and good humoured at all times. The food on the whole is excellent. The location is slightly remote but courtesy buses run from the hotel at reasonable cost to a number of destinations.During the Gold Season excellent entertainment is laid on but if you want you can find a quieter spot.I am already looking forward to next year's holiday.

Room Tip: One facing the pool if going at a cooler time of the year

The hotel overall is very nice, clean and comfortable. We were unlucky with the weather when we stayed which meant the room was freezing cold as it has not heating. When we complained at reception they said the hotel was not built with heating only air conditioning so there was nothing they could do about it, which I feel is very poor.# We also had a couple of power cuts, one time we were in the indoor pool, no one from the hotel came to ask us to leave the pool area in case we slipped in the dark, which was dangerours, no one ever mentioned the lack of power dispite it being out for at least 30 mins the first time, so overall not very good for health and safety point of view.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the pool as at least you get the heat from the sun if its cold!!!
