Just returned from falesia hotel Algarve with temperatures in the high 20s, With helpful and friendly staff, great food, fantastic entertainment, the Thomson entertainment team of martin, dan Hannah and lucy should be on broadway . Jango the resident duo were great, the thomson reps trudie and dan were very helpful and friendly. The hotel has reached no 1 in the Algarve. We also met up with old friends and made some new ones, everyone is so happy at this hotel. That's why we return each year.

Room Tip: all rooms are spacious, so the choice is your preference, whether you want a pool view or garden vie...

We have just come back from this hotel. What a relaxing time we have had - it is an adult only hotel with a lovely outside pool (very shallow all around edge sloping to approx 5ft at centre) set in large, well maintained gardens. There is also a beautiful indoor pool next to the spa.
We shared our room with our daughter. Our bed was large and one of the most comfortable we have had in a hotel. The third single bed was also good.
The bathroom was functional and clean. On saying that we do go along with the comments about the bathrooms being tired and dated. BUT you don't spend your holiday in the bathroom and the hotel makes up for the bathrooms by its welcoming, warm, friendly atmosphere.
There was a wide selection of food and the quality was good. We had breakfast in the garden where you could squeeze your own delicious orange juice.
The entertainment team were one girl down due to illness during part of our stay, so they had to work extra hard and they did a great job. If you wish to join in, the daytime activities were fun and the evening entertainment on the whole was enjoyable.
The poolside bar does have happy hour 5-6pm and also there is a cocktail of the day (5 euros).
There is not much around the hotel to walk to - there are a few restaurants/bars and a supermarket where you can buy cold water (very cheap). The beach is quite a trek - approx
25 mins or so away.
We would certainly go back to this hotel and would like to thank them for making us feel so at home from the moment we started our stay.

Just had 2 great weeks at the Falesia and first visit to the Algarve.
I would have given a 5 star review but there a few niggles and annoyances which I feel knocks down my scoring.
The transfer from the airport is just over 30 mins which is great and hotel looks impressive from the outside.
Check in is very smooth and we were made to feel welcome at once. Recpetion again looks smart and is air conditioned and we were given a welcome drink and our cases taken up to our rooms for us.
Entering our room was an anti-climax. Old and dated fittings and decor. Stained tiles, chipped tiles, black(grimy) grouting in the bathroom which has not been updated from the late 70's at least. The hair dryer and air con controls belong in a museum.
We had a junior suite and was expecting more for the money we paid.
Next negative was having to pay 2.5e/day for a fridge. Ridiculous in this day and age especially when gowns, slippers and safe are included in the price along with tea/coffee facilities and fresh water bottle each day.
Wi-Fi was only accessilble if I took my device into the bathroom. Much easier to use the local bars for this function

The beds were really comfortable and the room was kept clean during our stay. Our balcony overlooked the garden and did get the sun late afternoon which was nice
Pool towels are available and can be exchanged daily.
Loads of sun loungers around the pool and gardens but still the odd saddo putting towels out before 8am. No need at all to do this. We got beds at varying times of the day without issue.
The wife also used the hotel spa and enjoyed the treaments within and also the indoor pool
The food here is superb. Breakfast can be taken outdoors and theres loads of fresh fruit and juices along with the usual full english etc
Dinner would comprise of 2 choices of soup each night, shed loads of salads and cold meats/fish and plenty of choices for mains. If you go hungry here then your ill or very very fussy. Drinks with meals are expensive compared to other gold hotels with a bottle of Rose costing 14e at least.
The food along with the overall ambience of the hotel is keeping it at number 1 in the rankings for Algarve hotels, however unless they start upgrading the rooms it will go down hill fast. I spoke to some returning guests who have made this their last visit because of the failure to upgrade the rooms despite being told each year it would happen.
All the staff in the hotel are very freindly and helpful as are the whole Thomson team. Holiday advisors are great and the entertainers work very hard to please.
Local interest rep Viktor is superb and does some great walks and visits. We also did a couple of excursions including the jeep safari and the vip journey into the past tour, both of which were value for money and very enjoyable days.

The area around the hotel is lacking if you like a stroll after dinner. There is a few bars and restaraunts but thats about it. I guess in June or July you could walk to the beach via the Sheraton Hotel but in September its dark by 8pm.
Eating out at lunchtime is cheap and decent quality. A pint will cost you 1.5e at Hugos etc and 2.5e at Brothers bar. The hotel also does some lovely lunches and snacks and not too expensive.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay but I would need to see some improvements in the room quality and the fridge hire abolished before considering a return here.

This hotel seems to all the boxes, the staff are just great the pool area is spot on. The hotel is everything you need for a great relaxing stay, only stayed B&B and the room was very good spotlessly clean, breakfast very good quality food with a great selection, I would recommend the squeeze your own orange juice.. Wonderful.
Overall this place deserves the praise it gets without doubt would definitely stay here again without hesitation... Thanks to all at the hotel.

If your after a holiday which is laid back, relaxed, peaceful with fantastic choice of food .. this is the place!!

Met at reception with a glass of bubbly, given a 1st floor room, we pointed out a higher floor had been requested, no problems and a higher one given, room 444, excellent room with a pool and side view, huge balcony, very clean and maid service excellent.. with a varied supply of towel animals made throughout the stay! only had a couple of things we had to see about , fridge not cold and the wardrobe door .. but they were dealt with immediately and no problem.

The restaurant has a fantastic choice, salads, roasts and show cooking, the fruit kebabs with hot chocolate sauce and the bread and butter pudding ... the chef does not hand out small portions!! beware your waistline !

Poolside, there is no rush for sunbeds, plenty there! and a great pool.

We did the "Simply Lovely" catamaran trip, an all day trip and well worth the money, the crew does a fantastic BBQ on a small private beach, with beach brollies, snorkles etc all provided. This is all set up whilst your taken on a speedboat into see all the small caves.

There are a couple of bars near hotel, but not much else. If your after a busy nightlife .. this is not the place.

A great holiday with more fantastic memories!

Our holiday to the Falesia was perfect from transfer through to arrival at this beautiful hotel was professional, yet still maintaining a friendly, welcoming, personal atmosphere. Our holiday advisers, Dan and Trudi were expert and knowledgeable, always on hand and nothing was too much trouble. Our room ( 243 ) was spacious, spotless and maintained in that manner each day, the same applies to the rest of the hotel, pool and wonderful landscaped gardens. Food was exceptional- so much variety and beautifully presented each day. ( we were able to go on a kitchen tour to see where this lovely food was prepared) one of the excellent informative tours given by the brilliant Viktor- to be recommended! Entertainment during the day and later in the evening presented by all of the Thomson Gold Team was excellent. It was a nice touch to have the chance to meet management and a representative from each working area of the hotel at the evening welcome meeting. A holiday is what you make it. We found it relaxing but there were things to do if you choose. Frequent bus service from the hotel, quite a walk into Olhos de Agua but once there we enjoyed the beach front restaurants and explored the beautiful coastline and breathtaking views. Would definitely recommend The Falesia as a first class hotel. Well done to everyone concerned. :-)

Room Tip: We were in room 243 a spacious corner suite a couple of floors up overlooking the pool to the front...

stayed at the Falesia hotel from 01/08/2013 until 14/08/2013, what a great holiday we had .We;ve been to the Algarve many times but have never been half board before so we were a little apprehensive.as to what to expect.Arrived at the hotel at 9.o.clock pm and went straight to the dining room for our evening meal, with an excellent choice of meat and fish dishes all cooked fresh our fears were soon forgotten. The breakfasts were also superb pancakes and omeletes all cooked fresh. The room we had was spacious and cleaned every day.The staff were very pleasant from early morning till very late. This is must be one of the best hotels we have stayed and would recommend it to anyone wanting a first class .hotel.They even e-mailed me to thank us for staying there

Room Tip: room 122 on ground floor overlooks the garden
