we really enjoyed our recent stay. Our party had four rooms, and all four were clean, tidy and spacious. The food and the service in the hotel were all above our expectations. the grounds well kept the pools both indoor and outdoor were also well maintained. being a child free hotel was also a bonus for us and the Thompson gold entertainment team a bonus for a direct booking guest!

location wise the hotel was perfect for us as we were attending a wedding at a neighboring hotel, and we were able to visit both the marina at vilamoura and the town on albufeira. the regular free bus to the beach was also well used. the beach a falesia is three miles of lovely quiet beach perfect for relaxation.

we will definitely be returning.

Enjoyed a week at Falesia hotel, in May. Staff attentive. Food- very good choice, well presented and delicious. Relaxing break, would defiantly recommend this hotel, especially suitable for couples. Would return.

Room Tip: Emailed ahead for room on 4th floor, after upgrading to room with pool view. Request granted, had co...

My wife and I visited Portugal for the first time and stayed at the Falesia. This is a Thomson Gold hotel and we selected it after reading other reviews. I have to say it was the best Thomson hotel (perhaps with the exception of the Sensatori in Tenerife) that we have stayed in, The manager Carlos and all the staff without exception are allways very helpfull and can not do enough for you.The food (buffet) was very good both breakfast and dinner with plenty of choice and variation. The rooms are clean and comfortable . Consider upgrading to a junior suite which gives you a larger room but includes the safe, tea & coffee making facility, fridge and bath robes. All these "extras" are to hire if you are in a standard room. The cost of this is 12.5 Euros per day direct with the hotel. There are a limited number of these rooms. There are plenty of sun loungers if you need one both round the pool and in the lovely gardens . The Thomson rep Gemma was very helpfull if you required anything. We would definately return to the Falesia.

Chris & Rosey ( May 2014)

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking gardens and pool get the midday and afternoon sun.

Completely agree with the other reviews. We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay. Staff are exceptionally welcoming and hard working. Very relaxing and quiet hotel and we really appreciated it being Adults only. Nice quiet location but not too far from Albufeira and Vilamoura if you want a trip out. Several bars restaurants and shops are a short walk away.

The food was very good. Fantastic choice for breakfast and dinner. We appreciated the self service coffee machines in the dining room, which avoided any waiting for coffee to be served with breakfast. Food was hot and plentiful and plates cleared promptly between courses.

The pool and garden area were beautifully maintained. Plenty of sun loungers were available at any point in the day.

It's a 20 minute walk to the beach which is worth the walk. We enjoyed walking along the beach to Vilamoura which takes about an hour and a half. We had a lovely lunch overlooking the marina and then walked back. A tiring but brilliant day. There are a few bars and places to hire sun beds along the way. It really is a beautiful clean beach.

We had a Junior Suite which was spacious and very clean. The Junior suite includes tea and coffee making facilities, which were replenished daily. It also includes the use of the room safe.

Entertainment was good and included a comedian, Tina Turner tribute act and various other singers. Bar staff were very attentive and we thought the prices were reasonable.

We found the Thomson reps very friendly and helpful.

Overall we had a fantastic holiday and would not hesitate in returning.

The hotel is hard to fault in terms of food, service and friendliness (it's all been said before) and I can understand why there's so many "returners". It's a Thomson Gold hotel - and the reps work really hard and encourage participation in a load of activities throughout the day. As mentioned previously the rooms are a little dated - but clean and well serviced.

A couple of things to consider however - location, a little too remote for us (we'd definitely recommend hiring a car) - we like quiet but we also like to be able to access something a little more lively than what Acoteias has to offer in the evening; hotel, evening entertainment - dated (OK its an older audience, but sureIy we've moved on from Roger Miller and "trailer for sale......." etc); adult only hotel - first time for us and in hindsight we prefer a mix of people

In short, we won't be returning but we can understand why here are lots of people who will.

Room Tip: We stayed in a room at the front of the hotel - 3rd floor - quiet but not a lot of sun!

Dear guests,

Thank you very much for your nice comments. They are very much appreciated by the whole Falesia Hotel team.

It is great to see that you have enjoyed most of our services and sorry to see that you were not that keen on the location. We are not a modern hotel but we are getting ready to do some refurbishment in the near future - however we will always pay all the attention to our service, which we are very proud of.

We are trying hard to provide "Simply relaxing Holidays" (our motto) and in order to do so - one would need to be a bit out of resort centre and its noisy activities. We have gone that far that we do not except even the children under 16 years of age - all in order to provide peaceful and relaxing holidays.

In today´s world of stress and always something to do - a bit of quiet holiday becomes very welcome. Of course - if one would want a bit more active life also during the holiday - the biggest tourist resort in Portugal - Albufeira and closely followed by Vilamoura - has got just that. Lots of large and loud bars, restaurants, discos etc and they are only good ten minutes taxi ride away.
The cost of the ride is from €10 onwards one way and per taxi - depending on the area one would want to go and the time of the return journey which would be more expensive if the return would be rather late...

Once again - thank you very much for your review and all the very best in the future. And if you change your mind - we would be very happy to welcome you back.

Kind regards,

hotel staff very attentive ,a very quite hotel and place to chill out ,this is was our 3rd visit and was our best ,the thomson reps although are young worked very hard to get people involved in there activeties,Gemma was excellent, the hotel grounds are well maintained, the rooms are kept clean ,although they need updating ,getting over the bath to use the showers is a bit old hat ,also they need tea & coffee facilities in rooms [tip take a your own] the evenig entertainment was good with 5 different artists on ,a beetles tribute band , an elivis singer, jane beaumont a shirley bassey and maria lynn all were excellent ,the dinning area is spotless, angelo the cheff and his staff and the food is a credit to them all, all the hotel managers work very hard to make your stay enjoyable ,as the waiter says,o yes we will be back.

Spent our 4th holiday at the Falesia at the end of April/beginning of May and had an excellent time there with hot sunny days. It was good to see the staff again,Celia on reception,Angelo with his "low calorie" bread and butter pudding!!!! and,of course, Victor. The new maitre d was very good and cheerful,as was Carlos the manager. It just needs the bedrooms to be updated now, the gardens are lovely. We were rather disappointed this time by the entertainment in the evening but hopefully Thomsons will bring back the show teams. The Thomson staff were all very pleasant. We shall be back as Armin the waiter kept telling us

Room Tip: We again were on the 4th floor overlooking the quiet gardens towards Vilamoura.Very nice views and w...
