Six of us (three couples) stayed at the Falesia for 1 week as part of a Thomson Gold package and we all had a fabulous time!

The rooms were good, they had everything you needed, although you had up to pay extra for a safe, fridge or kettle. Our room overlooked the gardens, which was quite relaxing. As it was on the second floor you could hear the entertainment in the Show Bar in the evenings but this wasn't really an issue for us.

We had not stayed on a Gold holiday so did not know what to expect in terms of the entertainment. Granted, it probably more geared towards the Older audience as the average age of the guests was probably mid-sixties, but we found it varied and enjoyable and we weren't forced to join in if we didn't want to do so.

The hotel staff were all very friendly from Carlos the Manager, to Victor the area specialist, to all of the kitchen staff and of course the Thomson Entertainment Team and Reps.

We found the food to be absolutely fabulous - we stayed half board. The breakfast consisted of probably best cooked breakfast I have eaten abroad (probably due to the fact that they were catering for a pre-dominantly British audience, along with cereals, pastries, cold meats, fruit, etc. omelettes were cooked to order which was a nice touch. The evening meal was also the best I have eaten as half board abroad. As well as the usual fantastic selection of hot and cold buffet food, there was show cooking of various meats and fish every night. On top of this, there were 4 gala nights while we there, so the food was even more special on these nights. There was such a good variety of foods, that I think you would be hard pushed to beat it.

Summing up, I would definitely recommend this holiday as part of the Thomson Gold package although I'm not sure it would be quite the same experience for an independent traveller.

Room Tip: Avoid the second floor if you'd rather not hear the nightly entertainment.

Our first trip to Portugal. The surrounding area is Mediterranean beauty at its best. The beach is gorgeous but whilst the cliffs contribute to the beauty they also add to the 20+ minute walk (through the neighbouring Pine Cliffs resort grounds, and down the lift!) to the beach.

There are a number of good quality cafes and restaurants close by, but dont expect gourmet food or vibrant/lively nightlife within walking distance.

The hotel itself is clean. The staff are very helpful and friendly, and the Thompson reps were all enthusiastic. My partner and I are in our early 40's and want neither hard core clubbing nor social club caberet. I would say the atmosphere and entertainment is geared more toward the 50+ taste. €25 will get you a return taxi to Albufeira town if you want your entertainment livlier and more current.

We in no way felt we were surrounded by retired folk. There was a decent mix of ages, but the average age would have to have been 55+ in my opinion during our stay.

The food was perfectly acceptable, and whilst vegetarians may need more variety, you can always ask for something extra to be prepared.

The rooms are clean, but are maybe a little dated. Main complaints about the room would be only 1 spare socket for charging, having to pay extra for the fridge and safe and no tea/coffee making facilities - all of which I would have expected to be provided as standard by a 4*.

Just returned from our sixth visit to the Falesia and as always standards in all departments can only be judged as excellent. The food is good and varied, the rooms are well cleaned daily, the pools both indoor and outdoor are fantastic and the staff in all departments are both friendly and polite and really nothing is too much trouble for them.....just ask !!
The section managers are always visible and available and are most willing to become involved.
No real negatives really apart from the early evening entertainment not being to our liking but I think we may have been the odd one's out with this.
Regardless of notification there was the odd minority "reserving" sun beds from very early morning and were getting away with it but hey ho if that is important to them then so be it.
We would recommend this hotel to any couple wishing for a comparatively quiet holiday.
Just to add.....the walk to the transfer coaches from Faro airport is a bit far so be prepared !!

Room Tip: High floors pool or garden facing are the best.

Another excellent holiday at the Falesia Hotel, Thanks to Chef and his team food was first class (not forgetting the bread and butter pudding).
Special mention to Armen who kept us entertained at the pool side bar.
As Armen says "we will be back!"

Not long got back from a fabulous holiday at the Falesia Hotel. From check in to departure day, I couldn't fault the hotel. Both the hotel and Thomson staff were extremely good. I have been to the hotel on different occasions, but this was the first time as a guest. The amenities are excellent, the choice of food in the restaurant was very good. The room was very good, with a good view of the pool and gardens, and, although it was on the second floor above the entertainment area, never heard any music at all. Overall, had a lovely holiday on the Algarve, and will certainly go back to the hotel again.

Room Tip: Would suggest you try to book a room with a pool view

As a couple we wanted a relaxing holiday in friendly and quality surroundings. The Falesia met these requirements with exceptional staff and some of the best food I have experienced at a holiday hotel. If this hotel had a gym it would be 5 star. Thank you Falesia!

Room Tip: The best views are on the pool side.
