“Peace, perfect peace”
Reviewed 23 July 2009

Spent a week here 2- 9th July, our second visit to this hotel. All the staff from the receptionists to the chamber maids were helpful, polite and courteous, the rooms were spacious, spotless and comfortable and the gardens beautifully maintained and peaceful.
The pool area can become very hot during the day and we preferred the shade of the gardens. There are plenty of sunbeds for everyone, so why do people insist on " booking " them with towels and then leave them unused for half the day? How selfish!!
We used the indoor pool and had it to ourself - be warned it is very deep!
The ambience in the dining room was very pleasant and food was plentiful, although we did feel the choice of main courses was a bit limited at times.
The location of the hotel is perhaps not to everyone's taste and if you are looking for nightlife and biz , it certainly isn't for you, but we found this holiday to be one of the most relaxing ever.
I can't comment on the entertainment , as we were usually in bed by 11, exhausted by a hard day's sunbathing!
The beach can be reached by a pleasant 20 min stroll through the grounds of the Pine Cliffs resort next door and it is stunning!
There are 2 supermarkets in the resort and the one to the right at the foot of the steps in front of the hotel is cheaper. Again, we found the staff there to be very friendly.
We went to Brothers bar after having read reviews on this site - it was ok, but we much preferred Tanya's ( turn left at the foot of the steps, last bar on left ) the staff were great and soon came to know us , having our order ready as soon as we sat down!!
A previous review commented on young, noisy, inappropriately dressed guests - em where? We saw absolutely no evidence of this at all , in fact the noisiest guest we saw was an old guy who moaned about everything.
All in all an absolutely wonderful holiday, topped off by a complimentary bottle of chilled champagne as this was our second visit - fantastic.

We retrurned to the Falesia after a 3 year gap because we had a superb holiday last time. Although the hotel is beautiful which includes rooms, restuarant and pool and garden areasand still remains excellently kept we were dissapointed in other areas. This was an adults only hotel which would make you think there would be no children, and there were not. However there were yound couples who were noisey and should have been at a beach resort for teenegers. The standard of dress has been let go and although they still did not allow shorts at dinner very little effort was made by the younger couples to dress appropriately. One morning at breakfast a lady came in in a bikini with a short vest on top.
The entertainment team were very poor and were little more than kids themselves.
The food was not so good this time, as it was bland and not much choice and always very lukewarm.
All things apart, this is a lovely hotel and although the location is not great it is easy to get about by busus or taxes.
I am so sorry they have let their standards drop.

If you are looking for a quiet relaxing hol this is ideal never been on a thomson gold before or portugal but would recommend both if you like hustle & bustle this is not the place to go.
the staff & thomson team work hard, the hotel is clean & no problem with the food.Towels changed daily if thats what you want. If you dont want to pay £25 for the fridge just order a couple of bottles of water from the mini bar with reception & the fridge is unlocked for you. You can also hire towels for 10 euros which you get back when you give them back. The courtesy room is great if you have a later flight & they provide towels etc. Some of the guests aged between 16 - 70 but that was fine if your just there to relax.

We have been to the falesia 3 times now and will be going again next year. It is so relaxing and pretty. The location for nightlife, isn`t very good, as you have to get a taxi to shops etc, but the peace and quiet makes up for it! The pine cliffs and sheriton next door, are gorgeous and the grounds are lovely to walk through. The beach is accessable via the hotel, but would`t suit elderly or infirm, as lots of steps. Well worth the walk, as the beach is superb! Would highly recommend it.

Having read the reviews after I booked the holiday I was concerned about a week at a quiet hotel with two teenagers in our family. However the young Thomson Entertainment team soon had them involved so that they didn't really want to leave the poolside. There are taxis into Albufeira town to 'The Strip' for 15 euros each way at night.(only 10 euros in the day) so had they wanted to they could have gone clubbing but they always decided to stay and see this young team of entertainers do their shows instead. The hotel is beautiful and clean with pretty grounds to walk in and more than enough sun beds around the pool areas. This suited us as adults. The beach is perfect and not too far away(20 mins walk) but there are lots of steps so it isn't for everyone. ALL the staff at the hotel were polite, helpful and very hard working. Nothing was too much trouble, and was delivered with a smile, joke or a kind word. The en suite bathrooms are very clean but ready for a refit and the bedrooms could do with getting rid of the dated tiled head boards but again they are spotlessly clean with soft white towels and bedding. We only paid £515 for half board for one week and always found food in the elegant buffet restaurant that we enjoyed.I really do not know how they manage it for the price.
Unless you are in a superior room remember to take a kettle with you , but otherwise
we didnt think it was worth the upgrade. We will be returning to the Felesia ,and with its indoor pool and beauty treatments it would also make a good chill out hotel for other times of the year.

Enjoyed our week at this hotel, nice pine tree surroundings and pleasent hotel grounds, but if you want a beach holiday forget it.The indoor and outdoor pools were excelent.
Every were was very clean.Food was fine, but the evening main courses could stand some improvment. Bar drinks were pricy but what you would expect at a 4 star hotel.
we never saw any of the evening entertainment as it did't start till 10pm and we choose to go to bed.
