When arriving at the villa I was shocked to see how it actually looked verses the photos that are advertised. The photos are very misleading and make out the villa is light and airy, where in fact it is quite the opposite. When entering the living area, we noticed immediately that it was dark. Naturally we decided to open the curtains on the left hand side, where the guy showing us around pounced on us and told us not to. Unfortunately we were unable to anyway as the curtains which were partly falling down were tied together so they could not be opened. The sofas were a disgrace- the teal coloured sofa was stained yellow and the cream "leather" sofa was thread bare. It was in such poor condition that when you stood up from sitting on it, the leather peeled off and was attached to your back (see photos attached). Overall the living and kitchen area is quite small, considering we had 20 people staying. I would suggest that the room which looks like a prison cell, located off the kitchen, was knocked through so the kitchen could be extended. This would not only make it bigger, but relieve anyone's troubles of staying in this "bedroom". This is because it is not fit to be a bedroom as there in a thin window which lets in no light. The furniture in there is very dated and smelt musty, therefore the people in this room lived out of their suitcases for the week. As for the first bedroom on the middle floor, the draw handle came off as soon as you opened it. The room next to it had an ants nest in the bathroom which made me psychically sick (photos attached). Also there was two plug sockets in this bedroom, however one didn't work and the other was used for the air con. Therefore if you wanted to dry your hair, charge your phone, you know do the normal things you would like to do in your room on holiday, then you had to unplug the air con and sweat to death. Some of the rooms didn't even have a plug. In addition, there is not one full length mirror in the entire villa, which is quite inconvenient on holiday, the only mirrors found were in the bathroom which were not full length. Hot water was inconsistent for showers also. As for the pool area, this is where we spent most of our time, we enjoyed it very much, however the tiles around the pool area were broken, which one of the children cut her foot on. It is very dangerous for adults, never mind for young children, especially when it is slippy with water. The BBQ is very small, but again we could cope with this. Also, there is one key for the entire villa, which is not ideal when 20 people are staying in the villa. The guy who showed us around, explained that there was a safe box for the key outside, however this still isn't ideal when people are leaving and returning to the villa at different times, it also meant when you put the key in the safe box, the front door couldn't be double locked. In terms of the shutters, there was one on the outside, the door and some bars on the inside. Although we wanted to be safe, it did almost feel like you were in prison when the bars were shut. However, you need to be very careful opening these bars as they are very easy to get your fingers trapped in, which happened whilst we were there.. a warning about this would have been appreciated. When we were at the villa we decided to check out other reviews to see what others thought, we found it interesting to see that the landlord/ maintenance man found it "disgusting" that previous guests hadn't reported their issues. Therefore, we made it our first priority to get in touch with Miguel who was known as the maintenance guy. We voiced our concerns to him to which he agreed to come round, however he never turned up and never did for the whole duration of the stay. Miguel did not want to know at all and couldn't have cared less if he tried. One day the poor guy appeared at the pool, he didn't speak much English, but we tried to explain the tiles were dangerous and we had small children with us. We asked whether he could call Miguel as we had heard nothing from him. Miguel answered and told the pool guy to fix the tiles. However, Jose went to his van and pulled out some sealant and put this on the tiles. The tiles did not stick and remained broken. We became sick to death of trying to contact Miguel, so we emailed the landlord in Jersey who did reply to emails and get in touch with Miguel. We requested to speak to Miguel in person or even over the telephone, but this never happened. Again, he sent another man round to come and see one of the blocked showers. This man simply ran the shower, made a phone call and left.
It is such a shame as the villa could have a lot of potential, but it appears to be dated and had never been maintained. It needs an entire facelift, or at least uploading some photos of what the property actually looks likes, so guests know exactly what they have paid for. We can all cope with a dated place to stay, but this place was ridiculous which was made worse by the extremely poor and useless maintenance guy who is clearly incompetent and cannot carry out his job. Maybe if Miguel made an appearance at the villa to see the state it is in, he could make the decision to use some of the guests money to fix the problems outlined above. The villa looks as though it was decorated in the 80s and has never had an ounce of work done to it since. Would not return to this villa nor recommend it to anyone.
Visited with large family pictures on Internet looked grt but on arrival very large villa with lovely outside space and pool. Unfortunately furniture very dated and curtains hanging off in lounge various problems and Miguel after multiple calls only sent handy man once who happened to double as taxi driver. So we obviously gave up calling. We would not book again which is ashame as perfect size for us. Miguel hope your reading this and sort what would be a lovely villa out with the issues. We know you charged us for the missed taxi and not handy man we paid but very poor way to do business when we had to get to airport. Defo go back once had facelift and Miguel replaced.
The place is nowhere close as in the pictures shown by them. There are 3 large sofas in the lounge which are old and bits of them are peeling off. The rooms have outdated TVs and furniture and the bathrooms look like tip holes. The guys managing the villa are horrible: if you try and call them for any problems, they will not answer your call or bother call you back. With business like this kind, who would want to come back?!
11 of us stayed at villa bella for my stag do , the villa had every thing we wanted , the pool area clean and great fun , we would definitely stay here again the Location was perfect to , very thing was just as discribed
Location is great, close to both old town and new town, as well as the beach. Villa is huge and great for groups, very dated but okay as a place to sleep if you're out all day, plenty of bathrooms. Pool area was a highlight, fantastic area with sun all day and nice sun loungers. Only negatives was the lack of hot water in some of the bathrooms and also the beds were uncomfortable, but still okay to crash.
All in all, great cheap villa. A total refurb would improve it so much and make it a place you would want to be at all day, a lot of potential.
Slightly dated, and great for large groups. Stayed for 4 nights on my stag do, 13 of us and there was plenty of room. Ideal location from Old Town and The Strip - no need for taxi's. Advert slight wrong, with no pool table, but the WiFi is free. Had a bit of issue when checking in, with no key being left for us.. had to wait about 20min for the maintenance guy to change the locks - not great, when he couldn't speak English and we didn't know what was going on.
But overall, great stay and would recommend to friends and family. Looking to book this place again next year!
We had a lovely stay at this spacious villa. The people who looked after the place (and us of course) were very helpful. The place was beautifully kept. The beach is within walking distance. Best of all, you do not need transport to get to the shops - all within walking distance. You could also take the open air bus nearby.
