The perfect retreat if you want to be just far enough away from the busy night life and like to be close to the sea (the hotel has private access to the beach but you do have to pay for sunbeds if you want them.) Not a sprawling hotel and the lack of an outdoor pool (they do have an indoor one) makes it more attractive to couples rather than families. We stayed half board as we didn't fancy the nightly jaunt to the town (too lazy really), but worked out that we couldn't have fed ourselves for what it cost through the tour operator. The staff work tirelessly to ensure that you enjoy your stay without being over-familiar. Food was excellent, although half board visitors have a limited choice from the menu. Breakfast is very continental, but still more than adequate - the majority of guests are German, and no, there is never a fight for the sunbeds! As return guests we took a travel kettle-if you like your tea i'd take one as there are no facilities in the room.
Last years room was street-side so we opted for a sea view this year. Watching the goings on in the street was actua\lly very entertaining so we probabl wouln't pay the extra
for the oean! We're booking already for next year and taking 2 children - I hope they don't spoil ti for us!

The location of this hotel is excellent! the back leads right onto the sandy beach! and the front leads to a very short walk to the old town and transport if you want to explore other parts. The service of the hotel staff was excellent, particularly Joao! The breakfast buffet was great! And fresh fruit was put in our room daily. Loved the fresh flowers placed throughout the hotel...whcih made up for some small parts of the decor which had a dated look. We would definately stay at this hotel again. (avoid the expensive £12 beach chairs and just use the hotels, as they have them for guests for free!)

Just returned from spending a week at this lovely clean friendly hotel,we really cant fault this hotel at all,ok an outside pool would be nice but with the ocean on its door step you cant really hold it against them. The staff are friendly the hotel is spotless and the location is great as its only a 10 min walk into alberfeira and right on the beach. We paid for a sea view, glad we did as you could end out looking into someone else room or the buffet area but dont let this put you off, it really is a lovely gem of a hotel .

Room Tip: book a sea view

Part of the reason i booked this hotel was due to very good reviews on this site, and i was not dissapointed, had a lovely holiday here. Staff were very helpful, and pleasant, fluent in German, English and obviously Portuguese. Bedrooms were very clean and modern, sun terrace was spacious and you could always get a sun bed on there, Breakfast was good, plenty of different breads, cakes, cheese etc, and you could request eggs etc. If i went back to Albufeira i would definitely stay here again.
only downside was the swimming pool being inside, but you know that before you go, but the inside pool was good and had a hot tub/jacuzzi you could use

We have just come back from an eleven night stay at the Alisios and I will say it lived up to all our expectations, It is about a ten minute walk into the old town where you will find all manner of bars and restaurants some are a little tacky and loud but some are more upmarket and refined, there are so many you have a great choice. We found all the staff at the Alisios helpful and friendly especially Jaoa who could not do enough for us and always wanted a chat and give advice. Prices for drinks in the bar are more expensive than outside the hotel but arn't they always! Breakfast was good, very continental but what else would you expect from a continental hotel? and if you can't manage without your bacon and eggs you only have to ask one of the staff and they are only to pleased to cook it for you, we did on a couple of occasions and it was good. The rooms are kept very clean, a seaview would probably be the best, we had a room with a balcony overlooking the road which was still okay and good for getting out of the sun for a little while. The indoor pool is a waste of time and I never saw anyone use it while we were there, but we knew this before we went so that's not a complaint. Overall we had a lovely stay at the Alisios and would go back again.

Lovely well kept hotel with direct access to the beach.
Reception, dining and bar staff were very friendly towards German guestsbut they seemed reluctant to engage in polite conversation with British guests. They were polite but reluctant to be friendly. The British do have a reputation abroad but we all should not be tarred with the same brush. Overall I did not find the locals that welcoming towards tourists. The food was bland and geared towards German tastes. Not an international style menu that would appeal to most.Ps I do actually like Germans it's the Portugese who have a problem with the British.

Again Fantastic location , lovely hotel if you like salami for breakfast you will enjoy it. Just don't expect the staff to full of smiles and chatty.

Room Tip: Seaview is a must !

Lovely hotel, extremely clean, nothing too much trouble...we had a wonderful stay and would recommend it anyone without children..if you want a nice quiet hotel, but still close to town...continental breakfast was excellent, big choice, fresh, and very clean..real linen table cloths too!..although we ate dinner out ,we spoke to another english couple and they said the food at dinner was fantastic every night...was in a great spot, close to the old town,so a gentle walk (a smallish hill) taking approx 15mins,but a lovely walk, with lovely views over the sea,to have dinner each evening,if you want to eat somewhere different each night..100 steps (yes,we counted them, and they are not as bad as they sound!) down to the beach from sun terrace, with shower, for when you return from the beach at top of steps...free towels each day(refundable £10 deposit)..safe in room free (refundable deposit for key)and free air con..take a swimming cap if you intend to use the indoor pool....in total..we would definately use this hotel again as we could not fault it (apart from no outdoor pool, which we knew about)..but if you don't mind this..the staff waved us off on departure, which i thought was a lovely touch..thank you all at the Alisios for a lovely stay..
