Just returned from a weeks stay at cerro malpique 2, don't stay here if u want peace and quiet dogs bark constantly and it reminded me of club 18-30 place groups of boys and girls shouting all night and jumping in pool at 2 in the morning etc. Would not recommend for a peaceful break. Shame because it is in a great location

Had 4 nights at the hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful all the time.
The pool area was good and plenty of beds.
The rooms are very tired and need a referb very quickly.
The position of the hotel is lovely on top of the hill but the steps are a big problem walking back up.
The hotel needs free wifi in the reception area

We were pleasantly surprised by how big the apartments were! The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a great view of the sea from our balcony, more space than we needed, a very quiet and secure area and we were very happy with the Lidl and Aldi that were very close by, which we shopped at every day!

The hotel is a short 5-10 minute walk to the square in the Old Town, although some might find this difficult when returning to the hotel, due to the hilly climb that was required. However, we did not mind this at all.

Our only negative comment was the wifi. Although most bars offer free wifi, the hotel charged substantially for this, which seemed strange when everywhere else was free.

Overall, a lovely experience and would recommend this hotel to other couples without a problem.

Room Tip: You can request to have a sea view from the balcony, which was great.

We stayed in the Cerro Malpique 2 apartments in a superior room and I have to say the apartments were very nice, clean and spacious with nice views out to sea and overlooking the pool. Our patio area was also nice and big and equipped with a couple of sun loungers and a table with 4 chairs. Being the old town it is up a lot of steps and not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties. We arrived around 1am after some flight delays and the man on reception was really helpful and took us to our room. The only problem we had was with some of the other guests - there were four young guys having a great time but they were returning home at 6.30am after a night on the strip and having great fun swimming in the pool and being generally loud, funny first day it happened but not so good being woken up for the second time the day after. There were then a family with 3 young children who screamed their way around the pool for the whole day had a bit of a rest and started again at 6pm. At the end of the day its rated a 3 star and was good value and you cant always pick your neighbours we were all there to enjoy ourselves in the way that suits us best.

Spent ten days in the apartments during june 2014.
Nice and peaceful as there was mostly couples who where staying.
the things that let it down where the lack of an in house bar area and the 98 sreps down to the old town.
the apartment reception area did sell a limited amount of soft drinks, ice cream and a small selection of alcoholic drinks.
The reception staff where very friendly and attentive during check in and during the stay.

Just returned from one week self catering. The hotel is nice and clean, both in the rooms and public areas. We were in a high floor which had great views of the pool and the old town. Just a few negatives. There is no pool bar or supermarket which makes it a bit of an ordeal to have a drink as you had to stock your fridge. No music around the pool. The pool could do with a handrail as it was difficult to get in and out of. Steep steps around the hotel which when wet they were very dangerous. The staff could not do enough for you so dont want to be too hard on the hotel as all in all we had a great stay. The location is up a lot of steps so ladies be warned no high heels as no one wears them.

Room Tip: We were in block one in room 504 had great view sun until late afternoon.
