One thing about this hotel is the bar staff are brillant. We spent 5 days sat round the pool and the pool bar staff go out of there way to help you..Great fruit cocktails!!!..

The rooms are modern and clean. But there was 5 girls for 5 days and they did not change the towels once. ewwww!!..

Room Tip: Take towels

Just came back from Dom Pancho in Portugal. This was a bad experience for us. We booked to stay here at a cost off 920 euro as we booked a pool view, On arrival we were asked for our passports, which we handed 2 a receptionst, she proceeded 2 tell us that we were going on they 5th floor with a land view. We had advised her that we had booked and paid for our pool view before we got their. She was very insistent that know land view and that was it, So we were ordered 2 stay in room 123 land view, When you looked out over they balcony their was wheelie bins, and a busy road. We asked for they manager and was told their was no manager, we then asked for they sister hotel, we were told that their was none either. She then told us if we payed another 70 euro that we could move to a room with a pool view... We contacted a person from Thomas Cook who we booked they holiday through, and did not get any help what so ever, as regards to why we were charged another 70 euro. During our stay they beds were not changed for they whole week... and they towels were only changed once. You had 2 pay for remote for TV and Air con and also for they safe. My card was swallowed at they ATM machine by they supermarket facing rumours resturant, No 1 knew who owned they machine their was no number to contact anyone either. They beech was a 20 min walk which was very hilley, pavements are cobble stone and very slippery. Land view rooms on 5th floor have plenty off ants so if you like ants you will love this floor..... I would not recommend these apts to any one.....

Room Tip: Rooms with even numbers are pool views,

Advise: Don't pay for a pool view the street this hotel is on is not noisy at all.
When I first arrived at my room I thought it would be bigger. The room was a nice size, not too small not big. It was a 1 bedroom, which consisted of a kitchen area, table and chairs and a couch which converted to a bed. Then there was shutters you could pull across to divide the bedroom from the living area. It was all really open plan. I would have liked if there was a wall between the living area and the bedroom rather than pull across shutters. The room had air conditioning and a TV. There is also a safety deposit box.

The room very clean. No insects, I was reluctant after reading other reviews thinking the place would be crawling with ants, but this was not the case in the room I stayed in. Nor did I ever see any ants in any part of the hotel. The cooking facilities are very basic. There is 2 rings and a microwave. This is fine for breakfast and lunch but one is limited when it comes to making dinner in the apartment. The hotel also has villas just off the pool. The stag parties I saw, all stayed in these villas. The hotel was not noisy at night, no more than any apart hotel in tourist destinations.

I used the hotels outdoor pool, which gets busy in peak season, July and August, but you can still have a pleasant swim. The pool is shallow at one end and deep at the other. Its about half shallow and half deep. The deep end is deep! Reaching 3.30m in the deepest part. Ideal for jumping in! Inflatables are aloud. The pool has steps which go down gradually at the shallow end making it easily accessible for all ages. The hotel serve drinks and lunch in a cafe just off the pool. Sun beds are not too plentiful and they are almost all taken by about 8.15 in peak.

There was a nice mix of nationalities staying in the hotel. Lots of Irish and English.

The location of Dom Pancho is fantastic it is only 5 minutes from the strip. There are also lots of places to eat closer to the hotel, I'd recommend the strip. There is a super market just up from the hotel, across the road. I think its called St. Eilua or something. It is handy for water as its so close to the hotel. The Ecomarte is a supermarket which is further left up the road. It is much better price wise and the rolls and bread is fresh!

There is a 24 hour reception. The hotel offers massages, which are done by a lady right by the pool. There is also a bar which closed about 3pm ish (peak). There is a games room with air hockey, pool tables, pinball etc. There is Wifi

Room Tip: Don't pay the extra for pool view! Do without.

We paid very little to stay here so weren't expecting much but the studio room was large and modern and had what we needed to make breakfast or lunch if needed. You don't pay for the remotes, you just leave a deposit and get it back when you leave, seems reasonable. The maid came in most days but as others have said the towels only get changed once in a week. We were lucky and only had a stag group in for one night when we arrived. the rest of the week was OK but the corridors are polished brick so anyone wearing anything but trainers makes a noise, not very clever design. Can't comment on food as didn't eat here, though there's a really nice Portuguese Pastilleria about 50 m if you turn left at the end of the road. Give it a try for great crepes and custard tarts!
