“NEVER EVER AGAIN!!!!!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2013

Myself and my other half went on our first holiday to these apartments.... We lasted one night here! We arrived to a disgusting filthy room... Stains all over the toilet seat and bath/shower.... Stains on the bed and mattress.. Presumably urine stains from a previous guest! Every time the toilet was flushed the smell of sewerage filled the apartment for at least 3 hours.and the "lock" on the door cud have been put through by a child! . Liturally stayed in the apartment for a couple of hours and then had to go to the pub and get drunk to be able to stomach sleeping in the place.. Fully clothed on top of the covers as the sheets were so dirty I wouldn't have given them to my dog to sleep on... Woke up and checked out straight away it cost us another 200 euro to get accom for the rest of the week and completely ruined our holiday! AVOID AVOID!!! Oh and location extremely unsafe in a run down and dark area!

We travelled as a family of 4, with our two children aged 7 & 20. Overall we had a lovely time in Albufeira. The apartments are clean and spacious, but are a little basic and could do with some modernising/decorating. (no cork screw, kitchen bin, door on the ice compartment in the fridge, cloth or liquid to wash glasses/plates and no cereal bowls) The information folder in the room says they provide soap and shampoo, however there wasn't any. It also said there were safes in each room but again not, so we used the safety deposit boxes in reception that cost 20 Euros a week. The beds in the main bedroom were very hard... and at some points the apartments are fairly noisy if you get the wrong neighbours (like we did for 4 nights) as the walls are paper thin and you can hear every word, slamming door, footstep etc. Also the local dogs do quite a lot of barking at all hours!!!. The staff were quite polite once they get to know you. The pool was OK and not as small as it looks and was cleaned every morning, but like in most places there are not enough sun loungers and not really enough space around the pool surround to put any more or even lie on a towel as the water splashes out of the pool and onto the surround, soaking everything. The apts are in a part of town which is run down with mostly shut down bars and restaurants, however it is just a short walk to the top of the strip where there are plenty of bars, restaurants and shops. We visited the old town a few times during our stay and the beaches there are great. We also went to the Marina in the old town for a 2 hour 'dolphin encounter boat ride' and water sports etc. My advise is to book in advance for boat trips, parasailing, jet boat etc from one of the many ticket shops on the strip or apts reception. Taxi's are really cheap and at reception they will phone a taxi for you for 50 cent. We visited 'Luso Aventura Parque' which is just 5 minutes taxi ride away. It is an adventure park in some woodlands where you do zip wires, rope bridges, obtacles walks from tree to tree. There are 4 levels of difficulty of which our 7 yr old was tall enough for 2 of them. It was a lot of fun but quite scary if you don't like heights...! The 'Segways' in the Marina are also good for all ages and a lot of fun. Overall we all had a good holiday and the weather was 30+ degrees for the 10 days we were there with not a cloud in the sky (bliss), however in the evenings it can get quite windy and so maybe take a cardy. We booked this place only a couple of weeks beforehand and the choice of places to stay was not great, but to be fair, for the price we paid for 10 days in peak August season I would say it was very good value for money.

Room Tip: All rooms overlook the pool so don't worry about that. Try and get the top floor (7th) as then y...

I have just come back from staying in these apts, the room was cleaned every day towels changed etc, staff were friendly and helpful, the pool was cleaned every day and could get a bed at It no problem , the apts are in a quite area but only a ten min walk from the strip, there is a parque across from the apts where there was bars and what looked like an unused public swimming pool but it looked like it was been renovated when I was there will take awhile but was still quite, would not walk through it at nite, we found a lovely bar called the Ancora half way down the strip where we ended up going every nite as the entertainment was good and the staff very friendly, there was a steakhouse above the bar served pork, beef, lamb, turkey etc with all the trims lovely and to the side of the bar was a pizza place all owned by the same person so if you want good food that's not expensive this is the place. All in all a great break

Room Tip: ask for a seaview on the seventh floor

If you want a cheap and cheerful break and get a good price you can't go far wrong with the Mirachoro. The apartments are large and well equipped (but no hairdryer). Cleaners came every day, daily change of towels and regular clean bedding. Can't fault the apartments for the ptrice we paid.
The hotel could do with a bit of TLC but was clean. However, if you're a pool lover this hotel isn't for you, it's quite small and wasn't cleaned in the week we were there.
The staff were polite and helpful.
There are lovely beaches if you are happy to walk. Just be aware the hotel is at the top of the strip- quite a hill!
Great supermarket 2 minute walk through the park- we were surprised how cheap everything was compared to our last visit 5 years ago.
We were warned not to walk through the park late at night but, although it's run down, we didn't have any problems.
All in all, a good cheap break.

Me and a friend (aged 22 & 24) wanted a late deal to get some sun. We wanted a cheap SC apartment near everything. Yes we were very alarmed with all the previous reviews about it being unsafe and the noisy bar across the road but it was fine. Yes a little run down but its so cheap what do you expect!? The staff are a bit rude but once they know you its fine!
The pool is OK, we never went in it and just used the hotel as a base. We never ate or drank there so cannot comment.
The 'noisy' bar opposite has shut down and there's not a lot going on right outside the hotel but a quick walk down the road and you are at the strip. I'd recommend going to the old town rather than the strip though, depends what you are after!
The hotel is quite noisy as its tiled floors so everything above you hear. Its mainly a younger crowd but nothing crazy. The rooms are huge, never stayed anywhere as large. The shower is fab, no hairdryer in the room. Hardly used the kitchen as was a bit greasy.
But basically, if you are after somewhere clean, cheap and basic its ideal. Not to be a snob but I wouldn't usually 'slum it!' so was pretty anxious about this place but it was fine. perfect for hens/stags/friends on holiday/anyone after some where cheap and basic.
Any questions just ask!

Room Tip: go for a higher floor, you'd hear less above you

I recently stayed at these apartments to celebrate my 40th birthday with 2 friends for a 3 night stay. We couldn't really fault the apartments. They were excellent value for money, for the amount we paid. The apartment was spacious and very clean which was one of our main concerns. The staff were friendly and helped us with any queries we had. The only down side is that this area seems to be a run down and on the last night I had my handbag stolen on the walk home. We later found out that this is a common occurrence. I would therefore suggest taking care on the walk home from the strip or getting a taxi even though it is a short walk.
