I wasn't impressed at the bossy and unhelpful welcome we received at check in but staff from that point on were pleasant enough.
The rooms are big and simple with an open fire and heaters (necessary in winter). Unfortunately the hotel doesn't provide firewood but we found some and it made for a cosy evening.
The rooms are cleaned daily and linen is provided.
As to the local area, things are a bit too anglicised for me but my mum enjoyed the fact that everything was within a short walking distance and English was spoken throughout.
The resort, our studios in particular, could use a lick of paint outside but inside is pretty well kept and it is low season. I imagine the resort looks brighter in summer when the pool is open.More
