My husband and I came for our 2nd wedding anniversary and the service was just the same as when came here 4 years before. The service is amazing, nothing is too much trouble. The staff are friendly, polite and ready to give advice about the local area. As we stay before, the following morning we were welcomed back and congratulated on being married-This was a nice touch. Breakfast is great, because there's so much choice. The a la carte menu is just so good, the same quality as upmarket restaurants in London. The barman makes the best Margaritas ever tasted. Rooms are spacious, clean and have good internet connection. The beach at Gale, is so beautiful and full of local families. You can walk along to other local beach. There are 3 cafes on beach, all from which you view the sunset. There are other places to eat and supermarket around 15-20mins walk from the hotel. A car is recommended if plan to explore, the bus service is abit unreliable. This hotel gives all you need to chill out and have peaceful holiday.

This hotel was simply fabulous for a totally chill out holiday. We stayed for a week at the beginning of October arriving in a storm and thinking....oh no. The receptionist said that the weather was likely to remain that way for 3 more days ....oh no. However, the next morning.....bliss. Sun, fabulous view of the beach/sea/pool and it remained like that for the rest of our stay. Tiny problem when we went to breakfast in that the dining room had been flooded, however, all guests were driven round to their sister hotel a couple of minutes away and catered for there. Breakfast there was fine, similar to Albacora in Tavira where we stayed in March, loads of choice, lots of families but staff ensured everyone was catered for, so we couldn't complain. However, the following morning when we took breakfast in our hotel we realised just what we had missed the day before. The atmosphere was so relaxed, breakfast choice was of far superior quality, and the staff discreet yet 100% attentive to everyone's needs. It really showed just how different being a couples only hotel can be for ...well couples. Throughout our stay the level of service from all staff was exemplary.
We think the fact that the hotel manager, Margarida Antunes, maintained a visible presence and indeed organised an informal meeting for an hour one evening available to any guests who cared to join her, refelcted the the high standards of client service that are available at this wonderful hotel. We have never before stayed in an hotel where the manager was seen regularly and the meeting, whilst only attended by British guests (maybe we feel an obligation to attend something to which we've been invited!) appeared to be appreciated by others as much as ourselves.
As with another reviewer we didn't feel the need to hire a car - for a week there is plenty to do within the locale and the hotel offers a complimentary bus service to link you up to Albufeira. We walked a lot - there's so much lovely beach and yes the walk to Armacao de Pera takes a while but when you're on holiday you have the time. We went to Zoomarine in a taxi - cost about 12 euros each way - fabulous shows on there with all the animals, the marine shows were particularly spectacular.
Everything else has been said by other reviewers and photos posted are so similar to ours that I won't add to these.
If you're looking for something special that doesn't cost the earth this is it....just go

This is my 4th time to stay at The Vila Gale Praia Hotel, located in the exclusive area of Gale, the beautiful Gale beach is a short stroll away & I frequently drop into the hotel for a coffee, drink, lunch or dinner when I am in the area on other occasions, I am always made to feel most welcome. Peace & tranquility abounds, it has only 40 rooms, is a couple orientated hotel, not suitable for children, staff are very discrete & pleasant, one feels as if one is staying in one's own private villa/home. Rooms are extremely comfortable with luxurious bed linens, a pillow menu, water & fresh fruits, bathroom amenities, robes & slippers, candles & insense sticks. I have known David, the manager of the Inevitavel Bar & Restaurant for a long time, his attention to detail is superb & he takes great pride in his work. I would recommend Club Membership to avail of various discounts at the hotel & other/partner associations. This hotel stands on it's own in a cul-da-sac on the road towards the beach with beautiful villas in the vacinity, is well removed from all noisy Bars, Restaurants, Disco establishments, noisy traffic & crowds of people. Restaurants & shops are a 10 to 15 minute walk away, there is also a local buss serving the village of Guia & along the coast to Albufeira. There are also 3 Restaurants/Bars on the beach, Pedras Amarelas is my favourite. There is a beautiful walk from Gale beach to Salgados which has a nature reserve, golf course & other amenities. Infact, one can walk on the cliffs from Gale beach directly into Albufeira taking in the many beautiful little beaches along the way. I am always happy to stay at this hotel.

I'm a bit late writing this review. We stayed here in September 08 for a week of what can only describe as the most relaxing week's holiday that we have ever been on. It is a hidden gem. The hotel is in a quiet villa/residential area . The first night due to a mix up we had to stay in their sister hotel close by, and transport etc. was arranged, we were glad to get back to Villa Gale Praia though. The staff are very friendly and nothing is a problem. The hotel has it's on pool and if you don't fancy that ,the beach is a short stroll down the road. There are some restaurants/bars on the beach but you will need a car or get a taxi to go to town as there are no restaurants within walking distance and the hotel restaurant although has fantastic food it doesn't have a great selection for an evening meal, specifically for vegetarians. There would be nothing negative we could say about our stay except that it wasn't long enough. Again, watch out for chairman Mao at the top of the stairs!!!!!

This is a very smart hotel. We were there for a long weekend at the end of November and so it was very much out of season. Front desk was excellent and nothing was too much trouble.

We were in a sea view / superior room which as the last reviewer said had a boutique feel. There was a definite feeling of quality about this hotel and it is set in what looks like a more upmarket residential area.

We had a bad weekend weather-wise so never got anywhere near the pool which was a shame. If we are ever back in this area we would certainly stay here again. Given the location of the hotel I would say car hire is pretty essential but it was very cheap when we were there and there was hardly much traffic on the roads.

We ate at the restaurant one of the nights we were there and the food was of a good quality. It was a struggle to find decent places to eat as lots of the restaurants elsewhere were closed as it was low season, but it was no big deal.

Loule made a good trip on the Saturday morning and because it was November there weren' many tourists around.

Chose hotel largely on the basis of previous reviews and were not dissappointed. Just stayed for a weekend break late November. Fantastic weather for time of year and managed to get a couple of hours by the pool each day. All hotel staff from reception, to maids, to restaurant, extremely helpful & courteous. Whilst I couldn't describe room as chic or luxurious, it was certainly smart with a "boutique" look. As we were there out of season, and from comments about quiet location on Trip Advisor, we booked half board. On arrival at restaurant first night we were advised that as it was low season, we could chose anything that we liked from the A La Carte menu. Only 4 starters to chose from, but other than that a good selection for mains and reasonable for desserts. Although one or two dishes seemed to be overly complicated and slightly odd combinations, the quality was always excellent. The quality also carried through to the breakfast. The hotel was very quiet, with probably only half a dozen couples staying during the weekend that we were there. This helped to make it feel more exclusive. The only down side was that the Sauna/Steam/Jacuzzi were closed for maintainance, although spa treatments remained available. The resort area was very, very quiet with most villas shut up tightly for the winter. However, the beach cafes remained open along with the local supermarket, so we had everything that we wanted for a short break. If staying longer (this time of year) you would need a car to find more to do. Will we go back.............................definately!!

Read lots of excellent reviews on this hotel before going and was not disappointed at all. The little touches we loved were: 1) on arrival was given a refreshing drink and cold scented facecloth whilst booking in. 2) The dressing gown and slippers in the beautiful bedroom. 3) The rose in the bathroom! We had to leave early due to family illness and not only did reception organize the return flight home but they also contacted Expedia and got us a refund. Would love to stay in that hotel for longer next time!

Recommended restaurant:-
Ate in a restuarant in Albufeira called Bailote - excellent family owned restuarant, good food and a complimentary glass of port at the end of each meal.
