Open on a Sunday, which is unusual here, atmospheric dinning, good menu choice with a seafood speciality, efficient service, reasonably priced, good portions. We visited at night so the terraces overlooking the beach were closed but it was an enjoyable experience all round

My lunch meal was visually stale. I was not let down. The meal tasted no better than any fast food restaurant. Service was good. Price was almost fair. Not likely to return.

Smallish place, high above the beach in the atmospheric old town. The views are fantastic - and these alone make a visit worthwhile. In a town that's overcrowded with restaurants, business seems cut throat, especially in the low season, this restaurant holds it's own. The manager explained that many businesses are suffering as a result of the all inclusive boom.

Typical Portuguese fare, nicely presented - the chicken piri piri was tasty as was the goats cheese starter. Meal for two with a bottle of house wine came to just under fifty euros, which was a reasonable price to pay.

Staff were efficient rather than over friendly, but we were made to feel welcome, especially as we were the last to leave and we weren't rushed out the door.

I'd be happy to return.

To be honest we were looking for another restaurant, but couldn't find it and stumbled upon this place after we gave up and were pleased we did. We went twice, once for a day time coffee and went back for an evening meal.
As it was November there were very few tourists in the Old Town so the restaurant was empty. But the staff were happy to please us. On both occasions we went to the back of the restaurant that looked directly over the beach and Atlantic Ocean (a great setting).
I went for the special of the day which was lamb chops and I was even asked how I liked it cooked. Our meals were loveley and staff attentive. We enjoyed some banter with our waiter and were pleased that we came as we were all inclusive at the Monica Beach Hotel, but told him we wanted a break from watching many guests acting like pigs at a trough and have a civilized meal at least once away from the hogs.
There was a wide variety of sarters, mains, deserts and drinks and we enjoyed a relaxing time.

We ate here on the first night of our holiday in Albufeira. We chose this restaurant because it was round the corner from our hotel and seemed quite busy - a good sign or so I thought. We decided to go for the 12 euro set menu as we had already eaten quite a lot at lunchtime and didn't want a huge dinner.

The ground floor and first floor were full so we climbed the tiny spiral staircase to the roof terrace. It probably offers beautiful views in the day time but it is a bit spartan at night.

There are just two choices for each course of the set menu. For starters it is soup or garlic bread. My companion had garlic bread - it was a roll cut in half but no problem there - tasted fine. I had vegetable soup which was like the worst kind of hotel soup - all leftover vegetables boiled up and blended. It was tasteless. For the main course we both chose sea bass. Out came two of the world's smallest sea bass - their parents must still be in mourning. They came with a couple of tiny boiled spuds, a bit of broccoli and a few carrot sticks - so seasoning and no slice of lemon. They were mostly skin and bone - very little eating on them.

For dessert there was a choice of icecream or coffee. We chose icecream. The waiter returned 30 seconds later with two tiny plastics tubs. There was a Carte d'Or logo on the side of the tub but is tasted unlike any Carte d'Or I've ever had - must be special catering issue.

It really was a dismal meal - poor in both quality and quantity. Thankfully things looked up after that - we had much better meals elsewhere.
