“Depends on location of room, but all in all, this is a decent complex”
Reviewed 30 June 2012

Stayed in CPO for a week, only recently returned home. Our room was a bit of a trek from the pool area, but perhaps they give these rooms to young couples (as we are), rather than elderly people or people with young kids. My biggest complaint was our apartment was often infested with ants, apart from this issue the cleaners kept the room fairly clean, with 3 cleans and towel changes over the 7 nights. Overall the rooms are quite decent, have excellent cooking facilities (better than any other holiday apartment i have stayed in) and a tv with a mixture of stations in multiple languages. There is a wall fan and also a portable fan, which we kept on for the entire week but these failed to keep the room at a reasonable temperature every night and made sleeping difficult at times. A safe for the week was 18 euro, which i found expensive and we also had to provide a one hundred euro deposit on arrival that we had been unaware of. Would have prefered a room in a better location within the complex but with a complex this size with this many guests everyone can't have the perfect room location. We were quite close to where construction work is taking place but wasn't to bad noise wise. The entertainment around the pool area during the day is excellent, regrettably only played the water basketball on the last day and was brilliant fun, excellent for adults, teenagers and older children (may not suit everybody a bit younger though) and I wish I had of played every day. There is also water aerobics which didn't appeal to me, but there was a lot of people participating every day and they all seemed to enjoy it. There is no deep end in the pool, the deepest being 1.5 metres. Sun beds reserved with towels all day but often left empty for half of it was annoying, although there is grass areas that people who hadn't got beds could sunbathe on. Everybody on this complaing that you have to walk up the big hill to get to the road that leads to the strip is mistaken, you can actually get an elevator and a short walk through a nice garden to get to the same place. Pool bar is quite expensive, and same for breakfast in restaurant, never had dinner there though. For dining, the old town is much better overall, but Wild and Co on start of strip, although slightly more expensive, was by far the best of the seven different restaurants we ate dinner in and the service was as good as we've had anywhere, not just in Albufeira. Don't get check-in being 5 and check-out being at 10, i always thought the standard was 3 and 10 or 5 and 12. Overall I would describe the complex as good, its a quite standard holiday complex, I would recommend it to anybody who is looking for reasonably priced accommodation in a good location and would be excellent for anybody who likes to make their own meals on a holiday. Any questions feel free to ask.

Just back from a weeks holiday with my boyfriend (young couple) we had a lovely holiday at the CPO and I have no complaints, we had got the holiday cheap and I wasn't expecting anything much but the whole holiday was lovely, apartments we're fine, excellent location, lovely weather, the place was kept very clean and was as good as other holidays which have been much more expensive, I would have no problems returning to this complex.

We arrived at this hotel late on a Saturday night, and checked out at 9am the next morning as it was so bad. Here were our main gripes:

No air conditioning

Rude and unhelpful staff: we had to wander round the huge complex with our suitcases at 11pm trying to find our apartment which was separate from the rest of the complex. Finally we found a porter, he showed us to the block and pointed up two flights of stairs, didn't even offer to take our bag up for us. Surely that's what porters are for! When we checked out the next day, the lady on reception didn't ask why, or apologise!

Very basic accommodation: Bed was like a rock, apartment very sparsely furnished, no TV, small bathroom. Door handle fell off as we entered the apartment.

In fairness if you don't mind very basic accommodation this hotel might suit you. And had the staff been a bit friendlier, we may have reconsidered. But having said that the location of the hotel isn't great, lots of noisy bars and it was just too huge a complex for my liking. I won't be going back!

Many thanks for your review.
At our resort we try our best to allocate guests the requested apartments but unfortnately can not always fulfill these requests. We ask all guests to report anti-social behaviour to our reception who will in turn alert our security guard. Our food and beverage pricing is comparable to similar properties in the area and we feel we provide good value, nevertheless, we appreciate your feedback and will pass your comments on to our F&B manager.

travellerd here in april with my boyfriend. we arrived late and was greeted by the receptionist we was given our keys and a man took our bags up to our apartment for us. We stayed self catering, the room was clean and tidy and had enough facilities including iron, ironing board and plates pots and pans.

The weather wasnt great at this time of year but had a few hot days inbetween were we went to the beach which is VERY nice. just outside our room was a large terrace which had sunbeds for anyone to use with great views of the beach.

The hotels location is great just 2 minutes away from the main strip which has a few lively bars and plenty of restaurants. and a 5 minute bus or taxi ride away from the old town which we loved. there are loads of tiny traditional streets and shops and a georgeous beach with traditional restaurants selling local dishes such as piri piri chicken and fish.

The pool in the hotel was large however was too cold to go in at this time of year. there is also a sauna, massage table, boules and a gym in the sister hotel across the road.

would definately recomend and would definately go again but would perfer in the summer months due to un certain weather.

Room Tip: beach view are very nice.

Just got back from CPO and wish we was still there! was lovely and the staff were very friendly and had fluent english.
We stayed in a studio apartment and there was two of us and was plenty of room, had a kitchentte with hobs and a microwave, fridge and sink toaster and kettle, all pots pans and cutlery was inc. the rooms were very clean and modern enough, cleaner came round every other day and changed the towels and linen also. We had a fan in the room which was good for at nght times. We had breakfast included and there was plently of choice.
The pools were great, enjoyed the water areobics! the complex was big and layed out very well, everything was close enough. Also the beach was just a 5min walk away maximum, there was direct access to the beach also. The gardens in the grounds were kept lovely and green!
The hotel was close to the Strip, about 5 mins but far enough away so that you couldnt hear any of the noise. also 4 euro taxi drive away from the old town which we prefered to the strip and it had lots of places to eat and bars to choose from, ideal for families and couples!
Lots of places to visit also, day trips to Lisbon and other towns and cities. also water parks and other places for families.
Overall we had an amazing time! Loved the hotel and would go back again!

Room Tip: if you want a sea veiw then ask! also the block by the pool could be rather noisey during the i imag...
